Ravens Stun With New Multidimensional Rushing Strategy

Jesse Minter reveals the Ravens' strategic shift towards a versatile rushing game with the addition of Dwayne Ledford as offensive line coach.

The Ravens have made a significant move in the Jesse Minter era by bringing in Dwayne Ledford to bolster their coaching staff, specifically targeting the offensive line. Known for his tenure with the Falcons, Ledford's expertise is set to revamp Baltimore's rushing attack.

Ledford, a seasoned coach at 49, joined the Falcons in 2021 and quickly made a name for himself as their offensive line coach. His role expanded to include offensive run game coordinator, where he played a crucial part in shaping a formidable ground game over the past two seasons.

Before his time in the NFL, Ledford honed his coaching skills at several colleges, including UNC, ECU, North Carolina State, and Louisville. His diverse experience is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the Ravens' offensive strategies.

During a recent NFL combine media session, Minter shared insights into the team's evolving run schemes. He emphasized the introduction of various strategies, notably the outside zone run that highlighted Bijan Robinson's talents. With Ledford's track record, the Ravens are aiming to replicate similar success.

Under Ledford's guidance, the Falcons consistently ranked in the Top 10 for rushing offenses, averaging over 125 yards per game. This success was pivotal in Bijan Robinson's rise as one of the NFL's elite running backs. Minter expressed a desire to alleviate some of the running burden on Lamar Jackson by strategically utilizing Derrick Henry in the backfield.

This coaching addition signals a new chapter for the Ravens, with hopes that Ledford's influence will create a dynamic and balanced offensive attack.
