The Baltimore Ravens have certainly kept fans on their toes this offseason. After surprising the NFL world by stepping away from a trade for Maxx Crosby, they made headlines again by signing Trey Hendrickson to a hefty $112 million deal. Now, they've made another bold move by parting ways with backup quarterback Cooper Rush.
Rush, who stepped in for the Ravens during Lamar Jackson's injury spell last October, has been officially released, as reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. While Rush had his shot against the Texans and Rams, his performance left much to be desired. Completing 34 of 52 passes for 303 yards, Rush failed to find the end zone and threw four interceptions, resulting in a passer rating of just 48.8.
The Ravens decided to switch gears after those two games, turning to Tyler Huntley. With Huntley now secured on a two-year, $11 million contract as of March 7th, Baltimore seems confident moving forward without Rush.
Looking ahead, the Ravens might consider drafting a quarterback in the later rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft or wait until training camp to add depth to their QB lineup. Fans can expect a bustling quarterback room as the team gears up for their offseason program.
In other roster moves, the Ravens have added former Falcons guard/center Jovaughn Gwyn on a one-year deal, reuniting him with offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford in Baltimore. As free agency continues, it'll be fascinating to see how the Ravens continue to shape their roster in the coming weeks.
