Mark Andrews Faces An Ugly New Accusation After Costly Ravens Mistakes

Antonio Brown stirs controversy by questioning Mark Andrews' integrity after a series of uncharacteristic blunders during the Ravens' narrow win over the Falcons.

Antonio Brown went straight at Mark Andrews on Monday, calling for the NFL to dig into the Ravens tight end after a rough Week 5 showing in Baltimore’s 30-23 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Andrews had a night to forget in Atlanta. He came out flat on the opening drive, dropping a third-and-goal pass from Tyler Huntley that could have gone for an easy touchdown. Baltimore settled for a 21-yard field goal from Tyler Loop instead.

Things got worse on the very next possession. Andrews put the ball on the ground, and Falcons safety Jessie Bates III scooped it up and sprinted 36 yards for a touchdown.

The Ravens still had chances to recover from the early mistakes, but Andrews never really settled in. Baltimore trimmed the Falcons’ lead to two points in the third quarter when Huntley connected with Derrick Henry for an 18-yard touchdown, but the two-point try failed when Bates broke up a pass meant for Andrews.

The struggles carried into the fourth quarter too. With Baltimore down 20-15, Falcons safety Xavier Watts knocked away another Huntley throw intended for Andrews, forcing a three-and-out. Andrews finished with four catches for 28 yards on six targets.

Brown made his feelings known on Facebook and said, "Please investigate Mark Andrews"

After the game, Andrews owned the performance and didn’t try to dodge blame.

“Obviously, [that was] not the type of product that I would like to put out there. You’ve got to be able to make plays in certain situations; it is all about details,” Andrews said.

Even with Andrews’ rough night, Baltimore still rallied for the win, improving to 4-1 and moving into the top spot in the AFC North.

Derrick Henry Had A Message After Ravens Silenced The Doubters

The Ravens walked out of Atlanta with a 30-23 overtime win on Sunday Night Football, and Derrick Henry made sure the postgame tone matched the result. Baltimore had been sized up as an underdog in the lead-up, and Henry leaned into the noise after the game, pointing back to the pregame chatter that had favored the Falcons and making clear he had taken notice.

The comeback had an extra layer of difficulty because Tyler Huntley had to guide the offense after Lamar Jackson was ruled out with an injury, and Baltimore still found a way to rally late. Henry powered in for 102 rushing yards and helped force overtime with the two-point conversion, giving the Ravens a win that said plenty about the groups resilience even before the next question about the quarterback room comes into focus. Falcons Win Over Baltimore Looks Different After New Ravens Development

The Ravens overtime win over Atlanta already came with one layer of uncertainty because Tyler Huntley had to start in place of Lamar Jackson, who was dealing with an ankle injury. Baltimore still found a way to leave with a 30-23 victory, but the quarterback situation made the whole afternoon feel like a game the team had to survive more than one it could fully control.

Now the picture around Jackson looks a little different. ESPNs Adam Schefter reported that Jackson was closer to playing against the Falcons than many expected, and Baltimore is suddenly looking at a much better chance of having its starter back for the Browns matchup. The roster may also get another boost up front with center Cam Jurgens, acquired from the Eagles, in line to make his team debut in Cleveland, adding another wrinkle to how the Ravens line up for a game that now carries a very different feel. Ravens Turned Sunday Night Ugly And Collinsworth Said What Fans Thought

Sunday night in Atlanta ended with a game the Ravens were happy to survive and not much else. In a Week 5 matchup that turned choppy as the evening wore on, Baltimore left with a win after the Falcons had to change plans late in the fourth quarter, and the mood around the finish was as grim as the scoreline suggested.

Michael Penix Jr. left with a rib injury late in the fourth quarter, opening the door for Tua Tagovailoa to finish the game, and Atlanta still could not find a way through in overtime. The Falcons fell to 2-3, while Penix sounded optimistic about being back in Week 6, leaving Baltimore with the result and Atlanta with another hard-to-stomach loss to sort through. [Read more 🡒]
