Lamar Jacksons Practice Status Brings A New Week 4 Concern

Lamar Jackson's Week 4 practice participation raises questions as fatigue from travel and a tough game seem to take a toll on the Ravens' star quarterback.

Baltimore got a little scare at the start of Week 4, but Lamar Jackson’s absence from the media viewing portion of practice doesn’t appear to be tied to anything serious.

Jackson was not on the field for the open part of the Ravens’ first practice of the week, according to multiple reports. Still, the early signs point away from injury. He spoke with reporters before practice and didn’t suggest he was dealing with any physical problem or that he might miss Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

An update later added more context: Jackson was seen leaving the practice field in full uniform by ESPN’s Jamison Hensley, and head coach Jesse Minter said his quarterback was limited because of “something small.”

The likelier explanation is the grind of the last week. Baltimore traveled to Brazil, then turned around for a tight, taxing, and thrilling win over the Dallas Cowboys. Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported that Jackson “looked and sounded either really tired or sick” in the locker room after that game.

The Ravens did get a more encouraging development elsewhere on the offensive line. Ronnie Stanley returned to practice after sitting out all of Week 3 with a toe injury. His backup, 2025 fifth-round pick Carson Vinson, handled his first career regular-season start, but Stanley’s possible return would give a battered unit a needed lift.

Baltimore will issue its first full practice report of Week 4 later this afternoon, which should bring more clarity on Jackson, Stanley, and any other injuries the Ravens picked up in Brazil.

Ravens Just Got Pulled Into The NFLs Next Pass Interference Fight

Week 3 brought a fresh jolt to the NFLs long-running pass interference debate, and the fallout has quickly spilled beyond the teams directly involved. Around the league, the latest controversial calls have revived the familiar argument over whether interference should be reviewable, with some writers once again pushing ideas like a replay system closer to soccers VAR or a league rule that would force every such call into review.

For Baltimore, the issue matters because the Ravens know how thin the margin can be when a drive turns on a judgment call. The conversation is unlikely to quiet down soon, either, with possible rule changes not expected to come up until the NFLs league meetings in 2027. Until then, the same old tension remains: the league wants to preserve the human element, but more and more voices are asking whether pass interference is too important to leave entirely to the officials on the field. Ravens Defense Has A Problem The Pass Rush Cant Fix

Baltimores pass rush has kept doing its part, with Trey Hendrickson and Calais Campbell helping force pressure and make life uncomfortable for opposing quarterbacks. But the Ravens defense has not looked the same on the back end, where the problems have been piling up for a group that was expected to hold together much better than this.

The uneven play from the corners and safeties has left too many openings for receivers to exploit, and the issues have gone beyond just coverage busts. Nate Wiggins, Marlon Humphrey, Malaki Starks and Jaylinn Hawkins have all been part of a secondary that has struggled to stay consistent, while the tackling and safety play have also put Baltimore in tougher spots than the front seven can keep covering up. Derrick Henry Just Made Ravens-Titans Even More Personal

Derrick Henrys move to Baltimore was already one of the more fascinating Ravens storylines of the offseason, and now the backstory gives it an even sharper edge. Henry said the Tennessee Titans did not offer him a contract before he signed with the Ravens in 2024, calling the moment bittersweet while also admitting he could feel the organization was ready to move on during the 2023 season.

For Ravens fans, it adds another layer to a running back who has fit right in and kept producing at a high level since arriving in Baltimore. For Tennessee, it only deepens the contrast, with the Titans still trying to find their footing while the player who once defined their offense has continued rolling somewhere else. [Read more 🡒]
