Lamar Jackson's Status Suddenly Looms Over A Huge Ravens Browns Week

Oddsmakers and fans alike are closely watching Lamar Jackson's injury status, which could significantly sway the betting lines for the Ravens vs. Browns showdown in NFL Week 6.

Baltimore’s Week 6 line against Cleveland has become one of the NFL’s most fluid numbers, and Lamar Jackson’s ankle is the reason why.

Jackson sat out Wednesday’s practice, which only intensified the uncertainty around his status for the Ravens’ AFC North matchup with the Browns. Head coach Jesse Minter said the quarterback is “day-to-day” after suffering the injury in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans, and that Jackson will return to practice when he is ready. He already missed Baltimore’s Week 5 win over the Atlanta Falcons, with Tyler Huntley stepping in and helping the Ravens to their third straight win with him in the lineup for an injured Jackson dating back to the 2025 season.

The betting market has been chasing the news all week. Baltimore opened as a 3.5-point favorite on Sunday night, then climbed to 4.5 early in the week before reaching as high as 5.5 at some home books after ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Jackson had a “realistic” chance to play against Cleveland. Once Jackson missed practice, some books nudged the number back toward the Browns.

Johnny Avello, Director of Race and Sports Operations for DraftKings Sportsbook, said the market is still treating Jackson as likely to suit up. “The line this week indicates Jackson is around 60/40 to go and a revision will be made one way or the other once we know more on his status,” Avello told Sports Illustrated. “There were no adjustments made with the Ravens winning on Sunday night, since backups don’t usually play as well in back-to-back games as opponents have more time to prepare.”

Fanatics Sportsbook’s Ty Gour said his book was sitting at five and could move further Cleveland’s way if the uncertainty keeps growing. “We're sitting at five on our site,” Gour told Sports Illustrated on Wednesday. “As it currently stands as of this moment, and as Lamar's status becomes murkier, that will likely go further towards the Browns.”

BetMGM is also leaning toward Jackson playing. Christian Cipollini, Senior Trading Manager at BetMGM, said, “Looking at this line, we are expecting Lamar to play,” and added, “It will drop to under three if Lamar ends up being out.

No change for Baltimore, Snoop (Huntley) is a capable backup who has similar strengths to Lamar. They do not need to change their offense when Lamar is out, which is very helpful.”

Not every sportsbook is reading it the same way. FanDuel still lists Jackson as “questionable,” though it has Baltimore installed as a 5.5-point favorite on Thursday.

A FanDuel trader told Sports Illustrated, “We are pricing the Browns Ravens game as if Lamar is truly questionable to play. If he is announced in/out the line will move to or away from the Ravens based on his status.

Tyler Huntley's performance last week may affect this week's matchup with the Browns, but it will not change the outlook on Baltimore as a whole as their ceiling and range of outcomes is firmly tied to Lamar Jackson's health."

Jackson’s production this season shows exactly why the number keeps reacting. In four games in 2026, he has completed 70.8 percent of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception, while also rushing 18 times for 144 yards and a score.

Huntley has given Baltimore a workable fallback. He’s completed 78.0 percent of his passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in 1.5 games this season, and has added 10 carries for 36 yards and a score.

Thursday’s practice report should provide the next real clue. Another DNP from Jackson would be a bad sign for his Week 6 availability, and bettors looking at the Ravens may want to wait until the picture gets clearer. For now, the market appears to be assuming Jackson is more likely to play than not.

Ravens Still Waiting On Cam Jurgens As Center Decision Looms

Cam Jurgens is still moving through the concussion protocol after self-reporting symptoms last Monday, and his status remains one of the more important early-week questions for Baltimore. He has been limited in practice in a non-contact jersey and has not logged a full practice, leaving the Ravens to sort through the possibility that their center spot could come down to a late-week call.

Assistant coach Jesse Minter said Jurgens availability for Sunday will hinge on whether he clears every required medical step in the protocol, and the team has reason to be patient with the process. Vega Ioane has handled himself well at center and would be a viable alternative if Jurgens is not cleared, giving Baltimore some cover while it waits for the final medical word. [Read more 🡒]

Ravens Week 6 Outlook Still Comes Down To One Huge Injury

The Ravens got a little healthier on the practice field this week, with three key players back in full participation and rookie wideout JaKobi Lane returning from injured reserve after wrist surgery. There was also a glimpse of what the revamped front could look like, as newly acquired center Cam Jurgens was on the field in a limited capacity while still working through concussion protocol, giving Baltimore at least some signs of forward movement heading into Week 6.

Even so, the biggest issue facing the Ravens remains unchanged because Lamar Jackson was still sidelined with a sprained ankle as the week opened, and his status continues to shape everything about the offense. Baltimore can point to a banged-up Browns roster of its own, but the real question for the Ravens is whether theyll have their quarterback available when it matters most, or keep waiting on an injury that has already stretched deeper into the week than anyone wanted. Ravens Are Asking Derrick Henry To Carry More Than Ever

Derrick Henry has already become the center of the Ravens offense in a way few running backs ever do this deep into a season. With rookie offensive coordinator Declan Doyle navigating a line still working through challenges and Lamar Jackson potentially unavailable, Baltimore has leaned hard on Henrys power game, and the results have been sturdy enough to keep the attack moving. Through five games, he has been the teams tone-setter and its most reliable finishing weapon, leading the league with seven touchdowns.

What stands out is how much more the Ravens may still be asking of him. Henry is 32, a stage when most backs are being protected, not pressed into this kind of role, and Doyle has signaled real confidence in his ability to absorb a heavy load. For Baltimore, the question is no longer whether Henry can handle responsibility in the early part of the year. It is how far the Ravens are willing to push that bet as the season wears on.
