Lamar Jackson's Status Suddenly Became Baltimore's Biggest Week 4 Concern

The Ravens' star quarterback, Lamar Jackson, faces uncertainty on his return after an ankle injury, testing the depth and adaptability of Baltimore's offense against the Titans.

Lamar Jackson left the Ravens’ Week 4 matchup against the Titans with an ankle injury, and Baltimore has had to navigate the rest of the game without him for now.

Jackson came out for the second half dressed in pads and spent time on the sideline speaking with coaches, but he did not take the field with the offense to start the third quarter. He also remained out for the following drive, leaving Tyler Huntley to run the unit.

Huntley’s first two possessions ended with punts, though he brings plenty of experience and is a quarterback the coaching staff trusts.

The injury happened late in the first half after Jackson was taken down on a sack. He tried to slip away from the pocket, got tripped up, and then limped toward the locker room. Tennessee Titans edge rusher Jermaine Johnson III came down on Jackson’s ankle as he finished the play.

Jackson was sharp before exiting. Baltimore had piled up 273 yards in the first half, with Jackson completing 15 of 20 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns while adding 20 rushing yards on two carries.

CBS sideline reporter Amanda Balionis said Jackson was still limping as he came out of the locker room and later on the sideline, though he was engaged with teammates after Baltimore’s opening drive stalled on a quick three-and-out.

Baltimore’s protection issues were part of the picture, too. The Ravens’ offensive line had a hard time with Tennessee’s front, with Ronnie Stanley getting bull-rushed several times and giving up edge pressure, while John Simpson was also struggling.

That kind of pass protection is a dangerous mix when a quarterback with Jackson’s injury history is taking hits, especially with both players on his blind side. Jackson dealt with a long list of injuries behind a shaky line during the 2025 season, including a hamstring issue that started in Week 3 and lingered the rest of the year. He was also on the injury report Wednesday with a back injury, though it didn’t seem to bother him earlier in Sunday’s game.

Update 3:16 p.m. EST: According to CBS' Amanda Balionis, Lamar Jackson has put on the earpiece on the sideline.

Cowboys Coach Just Handed Ravens Fans A Fresh Reason To Smile

Brian Schottenheimer did not try to dodge the final sequence from the Cowboys loss to the Ravens, instead saying he made a late-game mistake by limiting Dak Prescotts reads on the offenses last snap. He also addressed the team directly in a meeting and apologized, a small but telling sign that the head coach knew the call mattered in a game that was still there to be won.

For Baltimore, the admission only reinforces how close the finish was to swinging the other way before the Ravens got enough time to set up the game-winning field goal. It also adds a little more texture to a win that already felt like a clutch finish, with one sideline owning up to a decision that helped the other side leave with the result it wanted. Lamar Jackson Injury Just Put Baltimore's Biggest Concern Back In Focus

Lamar Jacksons exit late in the first half put a familiar worry right back at the center of Baltimores night. After taking a sack and leaving with an ankle injury, Jackson was officially listed as questionable to return, but he did not appear to be preparing to re-enter as the game moved on. For a Ravens team built around Jacksons ability to change everything, any injury involving the quarterback immediately changes the feel of the sideline and the larger picture.

Baltimore was already dealing with more than one hit to its depth chart, too, as cornerback Marlon Humphrey and tight end Durham Smythe both went down during the game. Injuries are part of the grind in any season, but when they start landing on cornerstone players, the margin for error gets thin fast. The bigger question now is how the Ravens absorb the latest scare if Jacksons ankle keeps him from being ready on the next snap, or the one after that. [Read more 🡒]

Zay Flowers Puts Ravens Passing Game In A Tough Week 4 Spot

Zay Flowers hamstring issue has already left the Ravens navigating early-season offense without one of their most important pass-catchers, and it has made a short Week 4 week feel even more delicate. After appearing in only two games so far this season, Flowers was listed as questionable for Baltimores matchup with the Tennessee Titans, though he did log a full practice on Thursday, a sign the team at least had some reason for hope.

Even with that encouraging step, the bigger question for Baltimore is how close Flowers is to being himself if he does suit up. Flowers has sounded upbeat about his recovery, but the Ravens still have to sort out what kind of workload he can handle and whether he can give the passing game enough stability to matter against Tennessee.
