Jesse Minter Sounds Off As Ravens Collapse Keeps Getting Worse

Ravens head coach Jesse Minter calls for major changes after a string of poor performances end in a crushing loss to the Jaguars.

The Ravens’ latest loss followed a familiar and ugly script, and Jesse Minter didn’t try to soften it.

Baltimore was thumped 33-10 by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football, a defeat that pushed the Ravens to four straight losses. With the quarterback room battered, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano got the start, but the night quickly turned into another long one for Baltimore after the game got out of hand.

Minter said the Ravens’ problems in the second half were self-inflicted.

“In the second half, we just got in our own way. We're turning the ball over a couple times in a row.

The defense was out there, it felt like the whole half. I thought they battled and fought, and did a decent job in the second half.

But obviously, the results are not acceptable for us and what we're after,” Minter said.

The turning point came right after halftime. Fagnano threw an interception on the opening drive of the third quarter, and Jacksonville cashed it in with a field goal. Then, as the fourth quarter began, Baltimore coughed it up again with back-to-back turnovers - another interception and a fumble - and the Jaguars took full advantage to put the game away.

What’s making this stretch so damaging for Baltimore is that the breakdowns aren’t isolated. The Ravens have now watched second-half collapses pile up during this four-game skid, which began with consecutive meltdowns against the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals with Tyler Huntley at quarterback.

Lamar Jackson’s absence has clearly mattered, but the issues go beyond who’s under center. Minter is now dealing with a team that keeps losing control late, and the standard he wants simply isn’t showing up for four quarters.

Ravens Secondary Nightmare Just Got Worse With Kyle Hamilton

Baltimores secondary took another hit on Thursday night when Kyle Hamilton went down with a hip injury against the Jaguars and was ruled out for the rest of the game. The Ravens were already trying to navigate a battered defensive backfield, and now they have one of their most important pieces leaving in the middle of a game they were already chasing.

Hamilton entered the night carrying a knee issue that had limited him in the lead-up, so his availability for next weeks matchup with the Chargers is suddenly in question. For a defense already stretched thin in the back end, the timing could hardly be worse, especially with the Ravens trailing and the injury list continuing to grow at a spot where they can least afford another setback. Derrick Henry Carries Extra Weight In A Huge Week For Baltimore

Derrick Henry is carrying plenty of the load for Baltimore already, and this week adds another layer to his role. He has eight rushing touchdowns this season and is tied with Marshall Faulk at 136 career rushing scores, a mark that already puts him in rare company among running backs.

The Ravens also enter the Jacksonville game in a far different spot at quarterback, with the offense turning to a rookie under center after the latest injury moves. In a week when Baltimore needs stability wherever it can find it, Henry has a chance to keep doing what he has done all season and add another milestone to a resume that keeps climbing. Ravens Suddenly Face A Derrick Henry Decision Fans Never Expected

Derrick Henrys first season in Baltimore was supposed to be about giving the Ravens a bruising backfield presence to lean on, but the conversation around him has shifted fast with Lamar Jackson sidelined. Once Jackson went down, the offense lost the kind of balance that made Henry such a useful fit, and now the trade deadline has turned a once-unthinkable idea into a real point of discussion around the league.

Interest has already started to surface, helped along by coaching ties that could make a move easier to imagine than it sounded a few weeks ago. Henrys contract structure only adds to the intrigue, because the financial side makes him easier to fit than a player of his caliber usually would be, leaving Baltimore to weigh whether keeping him is the right call or whether the next few days force a decision nobody saw coming.
