Derrick Henry Stuns Fans With Bold Plans After Heartbreaking Ravens Season

Derrick Henry is channeling last season's setbacks into fuel for a dominant comeback, as he leads the Ravens with renewed vigor and an unyielding drive for triumph.

Derrick Henry is gearing up for a comeback next season, and he's bringing all the motivation from a challenging year with him. After wrapping up his 10th NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens' running back is looking ahead with determination.

The Ravens faced a heartbreaker against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18, a game that decided the AFC North. Falling short with a 26-24 loss, they ended the season at 8-9, missing the playoffs due to a missed 44-yard field goal that could have clinched the division title.

Reflecting on his time in Baltimore, Henry shared, “Being part of the Ravens and Steelers rivalry these past two years has been incredible. The games are always nail-biters, intensely physical, and they always come down to the wire.”

A standout aspect of the Ravens is the camaraderie between Henry and quarterback Lamar Jackson. Whether it's sharing laughs on the sidelines or supporting each other off the field, their bond is evident. Fans at home or those lucky enough to be at M&T Bank Stadium can sense the respect and friendship between them.

“Lamar's my brother. He's hilarious, and we love to joke around,” Henry said.

“He's an amazing teammate, and everyone in the organization loves him. We know it's a job, but he brings such a positive vibe, always wanting to laugh and enjoy life.

He's just a genuinely good person.”

Henry joined the Ravens in 2024 on a two-year, $16 million contract after eight standout seasons with the Tennessee Titans, where he twice led the NFL in rushing yards.

Facing tough seasons isn't new for Henry, and he's ready to push forward, relying on his teammates through shared challenges. “Embracing adversity is key.

I've been in the league for 10 years, and rough patches are part of the journey. That's why you lean on your brothers and your experience to push through,” he explained.

Despite the tough ending to the 2025-2026 season, Henry is set to surpass his own expectations next year. Last season, he racked up 1,595 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns over 17 games.

“After a season like that, you can't help but be motivated to work harder. We had high hopes, and while it didn't pan out, we're all focused on turning things around next season. It's about putting in the work and doing everything possible to reach the top,” Henry emphasized.
