The Giants may not be done shopping for a running back, and Derrick Henry’s name has now entered the conversation.
New York had already been tied to Jonathan Taylor, but that pursuit could get complicated as more teams circle and Baltimore’s situation shifts after Sunday’s injuries. Cam Skattebo hasn’t delivered the production the Giants were expecting this season, and that has left the front office with reason to keep looking for help.
On Monday, Mike Florio raised the possibility that the Giants could turn their attention from Taylor to Henry ahead of the 2026 NFL trade deadline. He pointed to the injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley as a factor that could change Baltimore’s thinking. “With Baltimore’s season potentially falling apart following Sunday injuries to starting quarterback Lamar Jackson (thumb) and his backup Tyler Huntley (toe), there could be another running back to potentially be pursued at or before the November 10 deadline, by the Giants or other teams,” he wrote.
Florio also said Henry’s contract could return “one or two draft picks” for the Ravens. He added, “Beyond the fact that the Giants view Taylor as on the second tier of current NFL tailbacks with Henry, Giants coach John Harbaugh has experience with Henry.”
Henry has been as productive as ever. He has scored 130 touchdowns in his career, and this season he leads the league with 158 carries. He also has 632 yards, averaging 4.0 per carry, and eight touchdowns.
Taylor still appears to be the preferred target for plenty of teams, but the Giants could have a chance to make a move that would be tough to pass up.

Ravens Quarterback Crisis Just Forced Another Desperate Move
Lamar Jacksons thumb injury has left Baltimore scrambling to stabilize the most important position on the field, and the Ravens responded by adding another arm to the mix. Kedon Slovis is now on the 53-man roster after coming over from the Green Bay Packers practice squad, a move that underlines just how quickly the depth chart has been turned upside down.
The Ravens are heading into their next game with Joe Fagnano and Austin Reed also in the quarterback room, a thin group for a team that suddenly has to rework its identity on the fly. Inside the locker room, leaders like Roquan Smith and Minter have already acknowledged how difficult the road ahead looks without Jackson, and now Baltimore has to see whether this latest move can buy enough stability to keep the season from slipping further. Ravens Suddenly Have Another Problem In A Growing Midseason Scramble
The Ravens midseason shuffle got a little busier this week, with the team adding a quarterback as it tries to steady itself at 4-4 heading into a matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Baltimore has already been juggling injuries at the games most important spot, with Tyler Huntley and Lamar Jackson both on the report and Joe Fagnano set to start in Week 8.
Now the concern has spread to special teams, where Tyler Loop has been dealing with an injury and the club may need to make another roster adjustment. It is the kind of added complication that can turn a routine week into a scramble, especially for a team trying to keep its season from slipping while the depth chart keeps changing around it. Lamar Jackson Trade Buzz Reignites A Big Ravens Question
Lamar Jacksons thumb injury has already stirred up plenty of attention around Baltimore, and the latest round of speculation only added more noise. Michael Irvin floated the idea of Jackson ending up with the Dolphins, a suggestion that drew plenty of backlash from NFL fans, even as neither Baltimore nor Miami has acknowledged any trade talks.
For the Ravens, the real issue is less about the rumor mill and more about the contract picture that still hangs over their quarterback situation. Ian Rapoport reported that Baltimore continues to view Jackson as its franchise quarterback and expects to pick up contract discussions again in the offseason, though the possibility of a trade would remain on the table if no extension gets done.
