Derrick Henry Has Rare NFL History Within Reach Against A Rival

As Derrick Henry eyes a historic milestone, his upcoming clash with Cincinnati's sturdy defense could determine his place among the NFL elite.

Derrick Henry keeps turning Sundays into a record chase, and this week the Baltimore Ravens running back is closing in on another piece of NFL history.

Henry has 37 career games with multiple touchdowns, according to Polymarket Football, and one more would push him past Randy Moss for fourth place on the league’s all-time list. The only names still ahead of him would be Jerry Rice, LaDainian Tomlinson and Emmitt Smith.

That puts Henry in position to join a pretty exclusive club, but the next step won’t come easily. Baltimore is set to face the Cincinnati Bengals, a defense that has changed plenty in a year after adding Jonathan Allen, Dexter Lawrence and Bryan Cook.

Even with those additions, the Bengals still have work to do against the run. Cincinnati is allowing -0.03 EPA per rush, which ranks ninth-worst in the NFL. Clutch Points also noted that Lawrence and Allen have “combined for nine tackles for loss and 25 stops, defined as a play that results in positive EPA for the defense,”

The better news for Cincinnati has come through the air. “In fact, despite the additions on the defensive line, the pass defense is where the Bengals have been more effective. Cincinnati is allowing -0.11 EPA per pass allowed, which just sneaks into the NFL’s top 10 this season.”

So while the Bengals have made strides, Henry is still the kind of back who can wreck a game and add another line to his growing history book.

Lamar Jacksons Week 7 Status Has Ravens Fans Watching One Thing

Lamar Jacksons Week 7 availability has become the latest Ravens storyline to watch, and it comes after three straight limited practice sessions as Baltimore gets ready for a divisional matchup with the Bengals. Head coach Jesse Minter said Jackson could still be in line to play, but the team is holding off on a final call for now, leaving the Ravens to keep preparing on two tracks as they sort through the quarterback situation.

Snoop Huntley has been getting ready as the possible starter if Jackson cannot go, while the injury picture around the roster has only gotten thinner. Minter also said edge rusher Tavius Robinson is out for the season with a pectoral injury, and safety Jaylinn Hawkins will not play Sunday, adding a little more pressure to a week that already has Baltimore waiting on its most important answer. Ravens May Have A Real Keondre Jackson Rotation Decision

Keondre Jackson has been one of those Ravens who shows up in the margins first, the kind of player you notice on special teams before you ever see his name attached to the defensive depth chart. Baltimore has valued that physicality and versatility, and with Kyle Hamilton anchoring the back end, Jackson has at least given the staff a candidate who could handle a bigger role if the opportunity opens.

Jaylinn Hawkins situation is now pushing that conversation closer to the foreground. His knee issue has affected both his availability and his play, which leaves Baltimore weighing whether Jackson deserves a longer look in the rotation. The Ravens do not need to force anything, but they do need answers on the backend, and Jacksons path from special teams piece to defensive option suddenly feels a little more real. [Read more 🡒]

Ravens Cornerback Problem Is Starting To Demand A Real Fix

Baltimore has leaned on dime defensive back looks more than any other AFC team, but the extra bodies in the back end have not translated into cleaner play where it matters most. The Ravens secondary has been a trouble spot, with cornerback performance drawing the sharpest concern, and head coach Jesse Minter has acknowledged the constant work to improve a defense that still looks out of sync at times.

Kyle Hamilton has already voiced the need for better execution, and the next step may come through the lineup rather than the scheme. The Ravens are weighing who deserves more snaps and how much patience remains for the current rotation, with the corner room carrying the kind of questions that can force a real adjustment sooner rather than later.
