Cardinals Deadline Pressure Just Got Real As NFL Trade Market Heats Up

The NFL trade deadline is approaching, stirring significant player moves and strategic decisions as teams vie for a competitive edge in the 2026 season.

NFL trade season has already delivered plenty of movement, and the next wave could be just as loud. With the Nov. 10 deadline closing in, the market is starting to sharpen around a few big names - and Jonathan Taylor sits right at the center of it.

The Colts running back remains the headline player to watch. On Nov.

4, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Indianapolis is still asking for a first-round pick for Taylor and is standing firm on the idea that it does not have to move him. Teams interested in Taylor, though, believe a second-round pick plus another asset should be enough.

That gap has not gone away, even as the deadline nears.

There is still real interest. On Nov.

1, Jordan Schultz reported that the Broncos, Vikings, Packers, Bengals and Giants have all reached out to the Colts about Taylor. Schultz also said a trade is “more likely than not” even though Indianapolis’ price remains too rich for most teams right now.

Taylor is not the only name drawing attention. ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported on Nov. 4 that teams were watching the Jets last weekend and wondering whether another loss could push players such as Will McDonald IV into the market. Graziano also noted that Braelon Allen’s breakout in Breece Hall’s absence could make Hall another possible trade candidate.

Dallas is another team under the microscope. On Nov.

2, Jordan Schultz reported that several teams are intrigued by George Pickens’ situation. Schultz added that there is no firm indication the Cowboys are looking to move Pickens or anyone else, but Dallas’ lack of success and Pickens’ expiring contract could still put a deal on the table.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, have a player open to the possibility of a move. On Nov.

3, Jordan Schultz reported that pass-rusher Josh Sweat is open to being traded. Sweat’s name had already come up in rumors before the season, and he had 12 sacks in 2025 before his production dipped this year.

One deal is already in the works. On Nov.

4, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Ravens are finalizing a trade for quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Cardinals, though the move will not be completed in time for Brissett to join Baltimore before Thursday’s game. The compensation has not been reported.

The deadline has already seen a flurry of major moves. The Cardinals traded Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Texans on Oct. 11 for second- and sixth-round picks.

The Eagles sent Cam Jurgens and a seventh-round pick to the Ravens on Oct. 7 for a 2028 second-round pick and 2027 fifth-round pick. The Steelers moved Joey Porter Jr. to the Cowboys on Sept. 30 for a 2028 second-round pick and 2027 sixth-round pick.

The Vikings traded J.J. McCarthy to the Giants on Sept. 28 for a 2027 fifth-round pick.

The biggest names have not all been dealt yet, but the market is clearly active - and the next move could come fast.

Ravens Quarterback Crisis Just Forced Another Desperate Move

Lamar Jacksons thumb injury has left Baltimore scrambling for answers at the most important position on the field, and the ripple effects are already showing up in the roster moves. With Jackson expected to miss the rest of the season, the Ravens have had to keep piecing together a quarterback room on the fly while trying to stabilize a team suddenly forced to adjust its entire identity.

Kedon Slovis is the latest addition, giving Baltimore another arm as it prepares for its next game, but the depth chart still looks thin and unsettled. Joe Fagnano and Austin Reed remain in the mix, and team leaders like Roquan Smith and Minter have already acknowledged how difficult the road ahead will be without Jackson steering the offense. Lamar Jackson Buzz Just Reignited A Dolphins QB Debate

Lamar Jacksons future has become one of those topics that never really disappears around the Ravens, especially when injuries and the lack of deep playoff runs keep the conversation alive. The latest round of buzz came from Fox Sports Nick Wright, who floated the idea that Jackson could still be in a very different uniform down the road, a reminder of how quickly one of the leagues biggest stars can become the center of a long-range what-if.

For Baltimore, it is the kind of speculation that says as much about Jacksons profile as it does about the teams current place in the AFC. There has been no trade report or team decision to point to, but the chatter keeps circling back to the same question of whether his future might eventually be shaped by a potential move and the appeal of a new setting. Lamar Jackson Trade Buzz Reignites A Big Ravens Question

Lamar Jacksons thumb injury has only added fuel to a familiar kind of NFL chatter, the sort that tends to follow a star quarterback whenever contract questions linger. Michael Irvin stirred the pot by suggesting Jackson could end up with the Dolphins, and the reaction was immediate, with plenty of fans pushing back on the idea. For Baltimore, the bigger issue is not the noise around a speculative destination, but the reality that Jackson remains central to everything the franchise wants to do.

There has been no confirmation of trade talks from either the Ravens or the Dolphins, and the teams stance remains rooted in the present. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Baltimore still views Jackson as its franchise quarterback and expects contract discussions to pick back up in the offseason. Even so, the long-term picture is still tied to whether the two sides can reach an extension, because if they cannot, the possibility of a trade would not disappear. [Read more 🡒]
