Bradley Bozeman, the former Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman, has officially hung up his cleats, announcing his retirement from the NFL on Instagram. Bozeman, now 31, entered the league in 2018 as a sixth-round pick from Alabama.
He quickly made his mark in Baltimore, securing the starting left guard position by his second year and retaining it through 2020. In 2021, he transitioned to center, a role he excelled in during his college days, and delivered what many considered the peak season of his career.
The Ravens were keen to keep Bozeman on board and explored a contract extension before he hit the free agency market in 2022. However, they couldn't meet his financial expectations.
Surprisingly, Bozeman found limited interest from other teams and eventually signed a one-year, $2.8 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. Meanwhile, the Ravens moved forward with Tyler Linderbaum, a first-round pick, who is now in the midst of his own contract talks with the team.
Bozeman's journey with the Panthers saw him take over as the starting center midway through the 2022 season, a performance that earned him a three-year extension. But change came swiftly when Carolina brought in Dave Canales as the new head coach, leading to Bozeman's release just a year into his new deal.
He didn't stay on the market for long, as the Los Angeles Chargers, led by Joe Hortiz - the Ravens’ college scouting director when Bozeman was drafted - snapped him up. Bozeman started every game for the Chargers over the next two seasons, though his performance in 2025 suggested his best days were behind him.
Bozeman's career, marked by adaptability and resilience, leaves a legacy of a player who consistently rose to the challenges presented to him, whether in Baltimore, Carolina, or Los Angeles. As he steps away from the field, fans and teammates alike will remember his contributions and the grit he brought to every snap.
