In their Grapefruit League opener against the New York Yankees, Rogers took the mound and delivered a flawless performance, boasting a 0.00 ERA. Even after Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. managed a two-out single, Rogers kept his cool and wrapped up the inning with precision.
The second inning was all Rogers, as he struck out the side, demonstrating the kind of dominance that Orioles fans are hoping to see throughout the season.

Reflecting on the Orioles' previous season, they ended with a 75-87 record, landing last in the American League East. However, Rogers was a standout, finishing with a 9-3 record, a 1.90 ERA, and racking up 103 strikeouts across 18 games.
Rogers' journey began in 2027 when he was drafted 13th overall by the Miami Marlins, signing for $3.4 million. His MLB debut came on August 25, 2020, against the New York Mets, where he pitched four scoreless innings and allowed just one hit, setting the stage for a promising career.
After pitching for Miami until 2024, Rogers was traded to the Orioles, where he continued to shine. Last season, he achieved a remarkable feat, becoming the first American League pitcher since Walter “Big Train” Johnson in 1917 to maintain a sub-1.50 ERA, sub .800 WHIP, and 0/1 hit batters over 12 starts.
Rogers' talent was recognized early on when he was selected for the All-Star Game in 2021 and finished as the runner-up for NL Rookie of the Year, just behind Jonathan India.
With Spring Training underway, all eyes are on Rogers as he looks to build on his impressive track record and lead the Orioles to a successful season.
