Ravens Coach Jesse Minter Soaks Fans At Opening Day

Join the lively Opening Day at Camden Yards, featuring Ravens coach Jesse Minter as a "guest splasher" and a lineup of exciting events and legendary guests.

As the Orioles gear up for their opening day festivities at Camden Yards, fans are in for a treat with a packed schedule of events. Among the highlights is the appearance of newly appointed Ravens coach Jesse Minter, who will take on the fun role of “guest splasher” during the second inning, adding a splash of excitement for fans in sections 84 and 86.

The day kicks off with parking lots opening at 11 a.m., followed by gates at noon, giving fans plenty of time to soak in the pre-game atmosphere. The Orioles suggest fans settle into their seats by 2:30 p.m. to catch the on-field opening day presentation, hosted by broadcaster Kevin Brown.

Before the players make their grand entrance down the orange carpet from center field, there's plenty happening around Camden Yards. DJ Mighty Mark will set the tone with music in Maryland Square outside gates A and C from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Orioles legends Al Bumbry and Joe Orsulak will be on hand from 1-2 p.m. to sign autographs, giving fans a chance to connect with some of the team’s storied history.

Inside the ballpark, fans can witness a live ice sculptor crafting a polar bear and Orioles logos in Legends Park by the Cal Ripken Jr. statue from noon to 1:30 p.m., adding a unique artistic flair to the day's events.

The ceremonial first pitch is set to be an emotional moment, delivered by Arthur Green, a 109-year-old veteran honored as the Mo Gaba Fan of the Year. This touching tribute is sure to resonate with fans across the stadium.

Baltimore native and Broadway performer India Boone will lend her powerful voice to the national anthem. Boone, known for her roles in “TINA: The Tina Turner Musical” and “The Book of Mormon,” will be joined by Bobbie Soellner, who will perform the anthem in sign language, ensuring the moment is inclusive and moving.

Adding to the patriotic spirit, the anthem will feature a ceremonial flag drop from the batter’s eye in center field. The flag, a replica of the one flown over Fort McHenry during the writing of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” will be unfurled with the help of Fort McHenry rangers and volunteers. The event will culminate in a thrilling flyover by Bell UH-1N Twin Huey helicopters from Joint Base Andrews, promising a memorable start to the Orioles' season.
