Patriots Headed to Super Bowl With 16 SEC Players on Roster

Sixteen SEC alumni will suit up for the Patriots in Super Bowl LX, highlighting the conferences deep NFL pipeline and star-studded presence on footballs biggest stage.

The New England Patriots are heading back to the Super Bowl, and they did it the hard way-surviving a snow-covered slugfest in Denver to edge out the Broncos 10-7. With that win, one half of Super Bowl LX is locked in, and there's a familiar theme running through this AFC champion: the Southeastern Conference is all over this roster.

Sixteen players from the SEC will suit up for New England when they take the field on February 8 in Santa Clara, where they’ll face either the Seattle Seahawks or the San Francisco 49ers. That’s not just a number-it’s a statement. The SEC’s reputation for producing NFL-ready talent is on full display, and the Patriots are reaping the rewards.

LSU Leads the Charge

No school is better represented than LSU, which has four former Tigers on the Patriots’ roster. Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has brought his playmaking ability to Foxborough, while offensive tackle Will Campbell has been a key piece in the trenches. On the defensive side, linebackers K’Lavon Chaisson and Bradyn Swinson have added speed and versatility to a Patriots defense that’s been one of the league’s stingiest.

Alabama’s Usual Presence

Alabama, as expected, isn’t far behind. Three Crimson Tide alumni are part of this Super Bowl run. Defensive tackle Christian Barmore continues to be a disruptive force up front, tight end CJ Dippre has carved out a role in the Patriots’ multi-tight end sets, and linebacker Anfernee Jennings has been a steady contributor on defense and special teams.

SEC Talent Across the Board

The rest of the SEC representation is spread across the conference, with players from Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Missouri, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Georgia all playing their part.

Here’s the full list of SEC players on New England’s Super Bowl-bound roster:

  • Julian Ashby, Long Snapper | Vanderbilt
  • Christian Barmore, Defensive Tackle | Alabama
  • Kayshon Boutte, Wide Receiver | LSU
  • Ben Brown, Center | Ole Miss
  • Marcus Bryant, Offensive Tackle | Missouri
  • Will Campbell, Offensive Tackle | LSU
  • K’Lavon Chaisson, Linebacker | LSU
  • Carlton Davis III, Cornerback | Auburn
  • CJ Dippre, Tight End | Alabama
  • Joshua Dobbs, Quarterback | Tennessee
  • Hunter Henry, Tight End | Arkansas
  • Anfernee Jennings, Linebacker | Alabama
  • Brenden Schooler, Safety | Texas (Note: not an SEC school, but included on the roster)
  • Rhamondre Stevenson, Running Back | Oklahoma (Also not SEC, but key contributor)
  • Bradyn Swinson, Linebacker | LSU
  • Jared Wilson, Offensive Lineman | Georgia

This kind of SEC footprint isn’t new, but it’s still impressive. The conference continues to be a pipeline for NFL talent, and the Patriots have leaned into that pipeline in building a roster tough enough to win in the snow and experienced enough to make it to the biggest stage in football.

With the Super Bowl just around the corner, these SEC alums will be counted on once again. Whether it’s Boutte making a big play downfield, Barmore collapsing the pocket, or Campbell anchoring the offensive line, expect the Southeastern Conference to have its fingerprints all over Super Bowl LX.
