Fall camp is only a week old, but Keshaun Singleton already sounds like a receiver who believes Auburn’s offense is ahead of schedule.
The Auburn wideout said the first few days have been “Pretty amazing, to be honest,” and pointed to the way the Tigers are pulling together as a group. For Singleton, the early progress is tied to the bigger mission Alex Golesh is trying to build inside the program: not just chasing goals, but establishing a standard.
“Everybody coming together as a team, just trying to build that bond every day, trying to work to be the best offense in the country,” Singleton said.
That confidence matters because Auburn isn’t beginning from zero. Golesh put nearly the entire offense in place during the spring, and Byrum Brown said the Tigers “came into fall camp ready to roll.” Singleton has seen the same thing, especially from the younger players who are becoming more comfortable in the system.
That comfort has changed the tone of practice. Instead of spending so much time sorting out alignments and assignments, Auburn can lean into the details and move with more speed.
Singleton also brings a built-in advantage into Golesh’s first season at Auburn: he already knows his quarterback. Singleton and Brown were teammates at South Florida before following Golesh to the Plains, and that connection has only grown through the offseason.
“Byrum is my guy,” Singleton said. “We do everything together.”
He trusts Brown to put the ball where it needs to be, and he described him as a laid-back player who flips the switch once the game starts.
“He know that he that guy,” Singleton said.
Singleton has also settled quickly into a strong relationship with wide receivers coach Kodi Burns. He said Burns’ background as a former receiver has helped Auburn’s wideouts better understand what it takes to thrive in the SEC, while also sharpening Singleton’s process and the way he handles challenges on and off the field.
And with Golesh’s offense built around the run game, Singleton doesn’t mind doing the dirty work. In fact, he embraces it.
“I love blocking,” Singleton said, joking that his teammates sometimes call him a tight end because of it.
