The Seahawks’ cornerback competition has taken on an Auburn flavor, and two former Tigers appear to be in good shape to keep their jobs even after Seattle added Terrion Arnold.
According to Field Gulls’ Mookie Alexander, Nehemiah Pritchett and Noah Igbinoghene are both positioned well enough to make the roster. That comes with Arnold now in the mix, creating more movement in a cornerback room that is still sorting itself out.
Alexander pointed to Igbinoghene’s work in camp, writing, "(Igbinoghene) had Marquez Valdes-Scantling locked down on a deep shot in the opening quarter, as well as a pressure on a blitz that forced Sam Howell into a bad third-down throw. I think he’s in good position to make the 53 alongside Nehemiah Pritchett. Terrion Arnold’s addition will make things even more interesting in the cornerback room," Alexander wrote.
Arnold’s arrival has also drawn attention because of his off-field situation. He was arrested in June in Tampa and faces eight felony charges in Florida, including pending armed robbery and kidnapping charges. The Detroit Lions released him immediately after the arrest.
For Seattle, Pritchett looks set to keep his place as a reserve corner and regular special teams contributor for a third straight season. He’s been around the Seahawks long enough now to have carved out a clear niche, and the team seems to trust what he brings.
That trust has shown up in how Mike Macdonald has talked about him this summer. The Seahawks coach said, "He's really competing and really excited for the opportunity he has," Macdonald said.
"He's making the most of it. He's making a heck of a case for carving himself a role."
Through his first two NFL seasons, Pritchett has 26 tackles and three pass deflections. Those numbers only tell part of the story at corner, but he did average more than five pass breakups per season at Auburn, and the Seahawks appear to believe he can still be disruptive if he gets a real chance in coverage.
Macdonald has been just as upbeat about Igbinoghene. He said, "Both those two guys you mentioned (Pritchett and Noah Igbinoghene) are having really good camps, and they're definitely putting their best foot forward."
Igbinoghene’s path has been a little more winding. He last stood out in 2024 with the Washington Commanders, but his 2025 season hurt his free-agent value. Even so, he signed a one-year, $1.81 million deal with Seattle this offseason, and the timing gives him a better shot to settle in than Arnold, who was added much later.
If both Auburn alums hold on, the Seahawks should have a noticeable Auburn presence when the season opens.

Alvin Henderson Is Crashing Auburns Toughest Position Battle
Alvin Henderson has made the kind of early fall impression that tends to get a coachs attention, especially in a room as crowded as Auburns running back group. Strong work on special teams and a solid first scrimmage have pushed him into the conversation, and head coach Alex Golesh along with running backs coach Larry Porter have both pointed to his recent improvement as a reason he is suddenly part of the picture behind starter Jeremiah Cobb.
For Auburn, that matters because the depth chart still feels very much up for grabs beyond the top spot. Omar Mabson, Bryson Washington and Nykahi Davenport are all still in the mix, which means Henderson is trying to break through in a battle where nothing has been handed out yet. The Tigers like having options, but the next stretch of camp will tell whether Hendersons surge is the start of something bigger or just the latest twist in a tightly contested race. [Read more 🡒]
Former Auburn WR Just Added To A Frustrating Tigers Debate
Camden Browns first NFL preseason game gave Auburn fans a familiar jolt of what might have been. The former Tigers receiver turned in a strong debut for the Dallas Cowboys, catching three passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns, while head coach Brian Schottenheimer pointed to Browns steady work in practice and his value on special teams.
For Auburn, Browns performance lands in a debate that never fully goes away when former players break out elsewhere: whether the talent was overlooked, underused or simply developed on a different path. Brown had limited chances in Auburn orange, but he was a standout at Georgia Southern and led the Sun Belt in touchdowns there, giving his latest showing another layer of frustration for a fan base still watching former wideouts find traction after leaving The Plains. Jarrett Stidham Keeps Giving Auburn Fans A Reason To Watch Denver
Jarrett Stidham gave Auburn fans another familiar reason to keep an eye on Denver in the preseason, turning in a steady outing against Atlanta. The former Tiger completed 9 of 15 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown, including a scoring connection with Jaleel McLaughlin, in a performance that showed he can still make a case for himself in the Broncos quarterback room.
Bo Nix was held out of the game, but his hold on the starting job has already been established after strong production in his first two NFL seasons. That leaves Stidham in a familiar spot, fighting for meaningful playing time behind a quarterback Auburn fans know well, and every efficient showing like this one only keeps the conversation alive a little longer.
