Cam Newton Suffers Devastating Career Setback

Cam Newton's venture into television with "106 & Sports" meets an early end, as the former NFL MVP reflects on past successes and future aspirations.

Cam Newton, the former New England Patriots quarterback, is wrapping up his show, "106 & Sports," this winter. Newton, who took the helm for the Patriots in 2020, started 15 games that season, amassing 2,657 passing yards with an 8-10 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Of course, many remember Newton's peak in 2015 when he snagged the AP NFL MVP award while playing for the Carolina Panthers. Since 2018, Newton has ventured into the podcasting world, hosting several shows.

The show "106 & Sports," which aired on BET+, won't be coming back after its debut eight-episode season. Co-hosted with Ashley Nicole Moss, the show featured a lineup of intriguing guests, including former NBA G League star and recording artist LiAngelo "Gelo" Ball, NBA legend Gary Payton, and WWE superstar Bianca Belair.

Recently, Newton made waves with his supportive message to Patriots quarterback Drake Maye after the team's tough loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. On ESPN's First Take, Newton expressed his pride in Maye's performance throughout the season.

He encouraged Maye to embrace the emotions following the loss, emphasizing that the season was far from a failure. Newton highlighted Maye's progress toward becoming an MVP contender, reassuring him that this is just the beginning of his journey.
