Cam Coleman Stuns Fans With Decision to Leave Auburn Tigers

Former Auburn standout Cam Coleman opens up about his departure, revealing how a lack of prioritization led him to join Texas, where he's already making waves.

Cam Coleman made quite an impact during his time at Auburn, amassing over 1,300 receiving yards and double-digit touchdowns. Known for his prowess in contested catches, Coleman became a sought-after player when he entered the transfer portal this offseason.

Despite some misleading posts on social media, the truth about Coleman's departure from Auburn is clear. He expressed a desire to stay, but the new coaching staff had other priorities, which led to his decision to move on.

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian wasted no time in recognizing Coleman's potential. “When he went into the portal, it was like ‘ok, this is probably going to be a priority for a lot of teams in the country,’” Sarkisian noted. Since arriving in Austin, Coleman has impressed both on and off the field, securing a notable NIL deal with Crocs.

Even the rain couldn’t dampen Coleman’s performance on Monday. While working with backup quarterbacks KJ Lacey, MJ Morris, and Dia Bell-due to Arch Manning's recovery from foot surgery-Coleman showcased his skills.

He started the open media session catching passes solo, demonstrating his talent with a deep touchdown from Lacey in wet conditions. His catch radius and ball skills were on full display, as he flawlessly executed comebacks, slants, and curls.

Longhorns fans are eagerly awaiting April 18, when Coleman will take the field at DKR for the Orange-White Spring Game. It’s set to be an exciting first look at a player who’s ready to shine in a new environment.
