Auburn put four names on the Panini Senior Bowl’s preseason radar, with quarterback Byrum Brown, running back Jeremiah Cobb, linebacker Xavier Atkins and defensive lineman Da’Shawn Womack landing on the annual “Top 300” list for the 2027 NFL Draft.
The list arrives before the 2026 college football season and reflects the Senior Bowl staff’s first big pass at sorting through the country’s draft-eligible talent. According to the release, Drew Fabianich and his team have scouted more than 2,000 prospects since February before settling on the 300 players they believe stand out most right now.
“The Senior Bowl Top 300 represents more than just a preseason watch list; it reflects the highest standards in college football. Being named to the Top 300 is a significant honor and signals that a player is viewed among the nation’s premier NFL Draft prospects,” the Senior Bowl wrote in the reveal of the Top 300. “The Top 300 has consistently mirrored NFL Draft trends, with the strongest representation coming from the conferences that produce the highest number of draft picks each year.”
Fabianich said the process is built around identifying the players who have already separated themselves.
“We’ve challenged our staff to identify the 300 best draft-eligible players in the country, and this list represents the prospects we believe have separated themselves to this point in the evaluation process,” Fabianich said in a press release obtained by the NFL.
“There is a tremendous amount of talent among this year’s class, and earning a spot in our Top 300 is a reflection of the work these players have put on tape. This season is critical as we continue to evaluate these players. Our scouts will be on the road every week, and we expect this list to evolve as the season unfolds.”
The Senior Bowl, which is best known for its college football all-star game in Mobile, Alabama, also uses the preseason list to spotlight players before the scouting grind really ramps up. The game, formerly called the Reese’s Senior Bowl, features players who have exhausted their college eligibility and are trying to catch the eye of NFL teams.
Auburn’s four selections joined a list that also includes several former Tigers, among them Xavier Chaplin, Cam Coleman and Kayin Lee.
For Auburn, the timing matters. Atkins, Brown, Cobb and Womack are all expected to have major roles if the Tigers are going to have success in 2026, and each is coming off a career year in 2025. That gives them a chance to build on their production while also pushing their NFL Draft stock forward.
The program has now produced at least one drafted player in 23 straight seasons, and five Tigers were selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, including Keldric Faulk, who went in the first round to the Tennessee Titans. Auburn will try to stretch that run to 24 next April, with one of these four players - or another Tiger not named on this list - potentially hearing his name called.
