Auburn Shines at SEC Championships: Key Performances Keep Tigers in Top Five

In Knoxville, the Auburn Tigers are making waves at the 2026 SEC Championships with standout performances in both swimming and diving. As the competition heats up at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center, Auburn's men and women remain strong contenders, sitting fifth and fourth respectively with two days left.

The day began with the women’s 100 fly, where Morgan Carteaux and Lora Komoroczy secured spots in the B final. Komoroczy's evening swim saw her climb to 11th overall, while Carteaux finished 13th.

On the men's side, the 100 fly saw a packed B final featuring Auburn's Abdalla Nasr, Sohib Khaled, and Bradford Johnson. Nasr delivered a remarkable performance, breaking the 45-second barrier for the first time since 2009, moving to second on Auburn's all-time list and finishing ninth overall. Khaled followed with a personal best, securing 12th place.

In the 400 IM, Mack Schumann and Luke Waldrep showcased their endurance. Schumann, despite a recent mile swim, clocked a personal best to finish 14th in the finals, while Waldrep placed 23rd.

The women’s 200 free highlighted sophomore Bella Ekk, who led the Tigers into the B final. Ekk finished 15th, with teammates Wyllo Hanson and Maggie McGuire also competing in the C final.

Daniel Krichevsky was Auburn's lone A finalist, impressing with a personal best in the 200 free prelims and finishing 6th overall in the finals. Danny Schmidt contributed with a solid performance in the C final.

On the diving board, freshman Juliette Landi dazzled in the 3-meter event, earning a spot in the championship final and finishing fifth with an impressive score that ranks her among Auburn's best. Teammates Maria Faoro and Chloe Brothers advanced to the consolation finals, placing 12th and 13th respectively.

The evening wrapped up with the 400 medley relay, where Komoroczy, Zeller, Carteaux, and Lisa Klevanovich secured a sixth-place finish. The men’s team of Kalle Makinen, Uros Zivanovic, Nasr, and Krichevsky delivered the second-fastest time in program history, taking fourth place.
