When Alex Golesh took the reins at Auburn in November, the buzz around which players might join him from USF was palpable. The spotlight was on quarterback Byrum Brown, who dazzled with 3,158 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, complemented by 1,008 rushing yards and 14 scores last season. It was no shocker that some of his go-to receivers, like Jeremiah Koger, would make the move to Auburn as well.
The potential for Auburn’s offense to ignite this season is high, thanks to this chemistry.
“We were in constant communication throughout the process,” Koger shared. “Deep down, we knew Golesh and his staff were who we wanted to play for. They’re incredible people and have our backs.”
Koger is among five wide receivers joining Brown at Auburn this spring, aiming to translate their success from the American Conference to the SEC. Keshaun Singleton, USF’s top receiver last year, headlines this group alongside Koger, Chas Nimrod, Christian Neptune, and Kory Pettigrew. Their shared history with Golesh and Brown is smoothing the transition and setting the stage for a dynamic offense.
“Having great chemistry with your QB is amazing,” Koger explained. “It’s one of the best parts of playing in an offense with someone you know.
He understands your routes, timing, and the type of passes you need. That chemistry is crucial for what we’re building here.”
USF ranked third nationally in total offense last year, averaging 488.7 yards per game. For Auburn fans, accustomed to recent offensive struggles, these numbers are a promising sign of what’s to come.
