Auburn Fans Shocked By Vicious Bo Nix Comment

Despite securing an overtime win, Bo Nix's questionable performance under scrutiny as he faces criticism for a lackluster passing game.

Bo Nix left Thursday night with a win, but not with many admirers.

The Denver Broncos edged the Seattle Seahawks 17-14 in overtime, and Nix did enough to help get them there. He threw for just 107 yards, finished without a touchdown through the air, and completed 17 of 27 passes. His biggest impact came on the ground, where he helped produce two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter.

Still, the offense never really found any rhythm after that. In the second half, Denver punted six times, and the final possession in regulation was a three-and-out after the Broncos intercepted Sam Darnold with 1:25 remaining in the fourth quarter.

That sluggish stretch drew a blistering reaction from former quarterback and current Amazon Prime Video analyst Ryan Fitzpatrick during the postgame show.

"They were in four-minute mode with their second-half start. It was really frustrating to watch, and part of it, for me, is Bo Nix.

He's not playing competitively. It's almost disrespectful to the QB position how he's playing football."

When host Charissa Thompson pressed him for more, Fitzpatrick kept going.

"The guy doesn't wanna throw the ball. That's fine.

He's throwing to the flats; he's throwing behind, but he has no trust from his coach. ... I can only imagine how (head coach) Sean Payton feels.

Sean Payton, (offensive coordinator) Davis Webb, everybody that blocks for (Nix) - he's not competing right now. It's not good enough."

After the game, Nix was asked about Denver’s trouble generating yardage on offense, and he didn’t shy away from the problem.

“I just think we’re really, for some reason, struggling to find those explosive plays. And that’s what makes an offense really spectacular - finding explosive plays, and right now, we don’t have those.”

He added:

“I don’t understand why we can’t really push the ball vertically right now, but defenses are just sitting back there, hanging out. So, we’re just going to keep running the football, hopefully find ways to get more out of it. ...

We’re definitely capable, we’ve shown it. I don’t know where the disconnect is right now.”

Denver now turns to its final NFC West road matchup, a trip to face the Arizona Cardinals on October 25. Kickoff is set for 2:05 p.m. MT on CBS.

Auburn Suddenly Has A Real Opening In Athens Saturday

Georgias injury report is giving Auburn a little extra life heading into Saturdays trip to Athens. The Bulldogs may be without safety KJ Bolden, while safety Tyriq Green and outside linebacker Darren Ikinnagbon have already been ruled out, and that comes on top of several offensive absences as well, including receiver Isiah Canion and multiple running backs. For an Auburn team trying to find any edge in a difficult road setting, the availability chart has suddenly become part of the conversation.

Auburn has its own issue to sort through, with linebacker Xavier Atkins unavailable because of suspension, but the overall picture still leaves the Tigers looking at a Georgia roster that is not at full strength. Those kinds of misses can matter in a game where margins are already thin, especially when a defense is shuffling pieces and an offense may have to adjust on the fly. For Auburn, the opening is there now, and the challenge is making sure it does not close quickly on Saturday. [Read more 🡒]

Auburn Fans Suddenly Have A Bigger Program Concern Than One Bad Week

Auburn has had plenty to sort through in a rough stretch, and the latest headline to land on campus has nothing to do with the basketball floor. Banana Ball announced Auburn as the site for its opening weekend, an eye-catching choice that immediately stirred up mixed reactions among fans trying to make sense of the schools latest news cycle.

All of it is arriving while the basketball program is already under a brighter spotlight after an exhibition loss to Florida State, with questions lingering about how the team is playing and where the coaching staff fits into the picture. And with Benko also in the mix in connection to Auburns business operations and NIL efforts, there is a lot more than one bad night pushing the conversation around the program right now. Ole Miss Fans Have Every Right To Be Furious About Week 7

Week 7 is setting up as one of those Saturdays SEC fans circle on the calendar, only to realize they may spend most of it flipping between screens. Auburns trip to Georgia is in the same kickoff window as Alabama at Tennessee and Missouri at Ole Miss, creating a crowded slate of high-profile games that will all get going at once. For viewers, its the kind of scheduling jam that turns a big day into a constant compromise.

The loudest complaints have centered on Missouri at Ole Miss, which many around the league felt deserved a bigger national stage than the SEC Network. For Auburn fans, the overlap matters too, because their game at Georgia is part of the same traffic jam of attention, and there will be no easy way to keep up with everything else happening elsewhere in the conference. It is the sort of weekend that leaves fans arguing less about matchups and more about who decided they should all be watched at the same time. [Read more 🡒]
