AUBURN - In a noteworthy move across the Iron Bowl divide, Chris Kapilovic, known for his recent tenure as Alabama's offensive line coach, is set to join Alex Golesh's Auburn football staff as an analyst. This announcement, made on Friday, February 20, marks a significant addition to Auburn's coaching lineup.
Kapilovic brings with him over three decades of coaching experience, a journey that has seen him shape offensive lines at various Power Four programs, including Colorado, Michigan State, and North Carolina. His stint at Alabama was marked by a notable improvement in the Crimson Tide's pass protection, reducing their sacks from 49 in 2023 to 24 in 2024. However, last season presented challenges, with Alabama allowing 32 sacks, ranking fourth-worst in the SEC, and struggling in the rushing department with a meager 104.13 yards per game and 3.35 yards per carry.
Joining Golesh's team, Kapilovic is set to enhance an already seasoned coaching staff in Golesh's inaugural season with the Tigers. Impressively, nine out of Golesh's 12 primary assistants come with previous coordinator experience, promising a blend of tactical acumen and leadership.
