Alabama Great SLAMS Arch Manning

As Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns face growing scrutiny, a CBS analyst offers a stark reevaluation of the young quarterback's performance and potential.

For the second straight week, Arch Manning and Texas walked off the field with a loss to an unranked opponent, and the latest defeat came after another flat fourth quarter. That was enough for CBS analyst Damien Harris to give the Longhorns quarterback a new label on the CBS Postgame Show after the loss to Florida.

Harris said he’s done using Manning’s last name and will refer to him only as “Arch.” His point was blunt: Manning “isn’t playing like a Manning,” and he believes the quarterback is getting too much benefit from the family name.

“Until further notice, I’m just gonna call him Arch. Because if you take away the last name, you have a below-average quarterback.

That’s what he is, and that’s how we need to evaluate him moving forward. He does not see the football field well.

He does not deliver a pretty football. He is not clean in his [operation]… Mechanics don’t look good.

Game management doesn’t look good. Nothing about Arch Manning’s game looks good,” Harris said.

He kept going, making it clear he sees the issue as bigger than one rough outing. “Arch Manning isn’t playing like a Manning.

He’s playing like Arch. So until further notice, he’s known as Arch.

We need to stop holding on to his last name saying, ‘We’re expecting more. We want to see more.

There’s potential out there.’ No.

Arch is a bad quarterback right now. And until he becomes a good or a better quarterback, Arch.

That’s all you’re going to get out of me. Arch.”

Some college football fans backed that view, arguing the surname may be protecting Manning from a benching that another quarterback might already have faced. “Facts.

He would be on the bench if he didn’t have that last name,” one user replied. “Finally honest evaluation I don’t think ESPN is capable of doing it because they’re scared of the last name,” another wrote.

“This right here! Too much hype but the eye test never lies,” a third declared.

The numbers aren’t helping Manning’s case, either. He doesn’t have the kind of raw production that would even make him a clear first-round pick, much less the consensus No. 1 selection people expected when he first committed to Texas several years ago.

Because of that, more analysts and fans are starting to wonder whether Manning would be better off skipping the 2027 NFL Draft and staying in college for another season to try to turn things around. If the losses and uneven play keep piling up, though, his future could take a very different turn.

Auburns Georgia Stunner Carried An Emotional Twist Tigers Fans Will Love

Auburns win over No. 1 Georgia in Athens already stood out as one of the seasons biggest shocks, but the finish made it feel even more memorable. The Tigers snapped a long drought with their first victory in Athens since 2005 and their first over Georgia since 2017, and they did it with a last-minute 34-yard field goal that sent the visiting sideline into celebration.

Alex McPherson has been through far more than a pressure kick at the end of a rivalry game. The Auburn kicker battled inflammatory bowel disease and underwent surgery before returning to the field, and head coach Alex Golesh made sure he got the game ball afterward, praising his leadership and perseverance as much as the winning kick itself. Auburn Still Has One Big Xavier Atkins Problem Heading Forward

Xavier Atkins was nowhere to be found when Auburn knocked off No. 1 Georgia on Saturday, and his absence was one of the quieter storylines inside an upset that will be remembered for a long time. The All-SEC linebacker has been central to what Auburn wants to do defensively, so losing him for a game of that magnitude only adds to the uncertainty around a unit that managed to come through anyway.

By Monday afternoon, there still was no update on Atkins status, leaving Auburn to carry the win while also waiting on one of its most important defenders. For a team that just took a major step forward, the lingering question is whether it can keep building on that momentum without knowing when one of its top playmakers will be back in the mix. Georgia Is Already Answering Auburn's Biggest Rivalry Win

Auburns rivalry win over Georgia on the field may have landed with extra force, but the recruiting battle is already swinging back the other way. Christian Mays, the top-ranked JUCO defensive lineman in the 2027 cycle, officially decommitted from Tennessee and announced his commitment to Georgia on his personal social media account, giving the Bulldogs another highly regarded addition to their front.

Mays currently plays at Northeast Mississippi Community College and brings the kind of profile that can shift an early recruiting board fast. For Auburn, it is another reminder that one big moment in the rivalry does not end the bigger chess match, especially when Georgia is already making its move for one of the cycles most sought-after defensive linemen.
