Falcons
The Falcons have bolstered their defense by signing defensive end Cameron Thomas, who previously played with the Browns. Thomas expressed his enthusiasm about joining forces with defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, highlighting Ulbrich's unique perspective as a former player.
Thomas noted, "It’s very exciting to be able to play for a coach that’s also been a former player. He just throws it all together.
He’s got a really nice defense." This move could be pivotal for the Falcons as they look to enhance their defensive strategies.
Panthers
The Panthers made a splash in free agency by securing outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips, whom they considered the top talent available. His four-year, $120 million contract underscores their belief in his abilities to make an immediate impact.
Additionally, the Panthers have added offensive tackle Stone Forsythe on a one-year deal worth $2 million, with various incentives that could increase its value. Forsythe’s contract includes a $500,000 signing bonus and per-game active roster bonuses, reflecting the team's strategic approach to bolstering their offensive line depth.
Saints
The Saints are making strategic moves to strengthen their roster under head coach Kellen Moore. New guard David Edwards has been praised by Moore as the “ultimate pro” and a “special, special person.”
Moore's excitement extends to running back Travis Etienne, whom he has admired since his Clemson days. Moore also shared his persistence in acquiring tight end Noah Fant, joking about the effort it took to finally bring him on board.
Moore is optimistic about punter Ryan Wright, believing his best performances are yet to come. Linebacker Kaden Ellis, who was a thorn in the Saints' side during his tenure with the Falcons, is now a welcome addition. Improving the run game has been a top priority for Moore, and he feels progress is being made in that area.
When it comes to veteran running back Alvin Kamara, Moore remained non-committal but acknowledged Kamara's importance to the team. With the recent signing of Etienne, Moore stated, “We’d like to go through that process, certainly. And so we feel, obviously we know Alvin means a lot to us.”
As for defensive end Cam Jordan and quarterback Taysom Hill, who are entering free agency, Moore emphasized the importance of maintaining open lines of communication. He remarked, “You just got to go through a process with everyone and we obviously love those guys … and that’s what it’s all about.
So we’ll take it step by step, keep staying in communication and we’ll see how this plays out.” The Saints are clearly focused on building a cohesive and competitive team for the upcoming season.
