Jake Bailey and his wife, Bailey Bailey, had a different kind of headline to share this week, and it had nothing to do with the Atlanta Falcons’ preseason tune-up. Two days before Atlanta is set to face the Miami Dolphins in the final preseason game, the punter and his wife announced that they’re expecting their first child.
The couple made the news public on Wednesday with a joint Instagram post, and Bailey Bailey - a former New England Patriots cheerleader - paired the photos with a message that kept the focus on gratitude.
“In God’s perfect timing, He blessed us with you. We can’t wait to meet you, sweet baby!” she wrote.
The post included six photos from a beachside shoot that leaned into a polished, romantic look. In one image, the couple posed beside a black International Harvester Scout II. In another, Bailey held a red kid’s jersey draped over Jake’s shoulder.
For the shoot, both wore white. Jake Bailey was dressed in a white short-sleeve shirt, cream trousers and dark sunglasses, while Bailey wore a white lace minidress with a flared skirt. Her blonde hair was worn down, and she kept the jewelry simple.
The announcement drew reactions from around the football world, including comments from Zach Wilson’s wife, Nicolette; Jarrett Stidham’s wife, Kennedy; and Jordan Stout.
“BABY BAILEY CANT WAIT TO MEET YOUUUUUU!!!!!!” Kennedy Stidham wrote.
“Congratulations beautiful so happy for you guyssssss,” Nicolette Wilson commented.
“BABY BAILEY BAILEY,” Stout wrote.
The pregnancy news came after Bailey Bailey recently marked another family milestone on Instagram. When Jake Bailey turned 29 on June 18, she posted a tribute featuring unseen wedding photos along with some of her favorite moments with the Falcons punter.
“Happy 29th to my whole world. I love you more & more every day!” Bailey wrote in the caption.
Jake and Bailey dated for about three years before getting engaged on Dec. 19, 2023. They were married 15 months later, tying the knot on March 8, 2025, in an intimate ceremony at a luxurious beachside resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, followed by a two-day celebration.
