Former Falcons Star Kroy Biermann Faces A Painful Family Spotlight

The son of reality TV stars faces serious legal charges, adding another layer to the family's ongoing public drama.

Kroy Biermann Jr., the 15-year-old son of former Atlanta Falcons defender Kroy Biermann and reality TV personality Kim Zolciak, is being held without bond after an arrest on aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery charges.

Fulton County court documents say Biermann Jr. was arrested on Aug. 17, 2026, and later appeared for arraignment before Magistrate Court Judge Cassandra Kirk. He is being represented by attorney Jason Sheffield.

A redacted incident report says an Alpharetta police officer was sent to North Fulton Hospital on April 24, 2026, “for a report of sexual assault.” According to the report, the alleged incident took place the day before, on April 23, 2026, in a Lifetime Fitness changing room.

Biermann’s father spent eight seasons in the NFL, almost all of them with the Falcons. He was a fifth-round pick in the 2008 NFL draft out of the University of Montana and appeared in 114 games with 37 starts for Atlanta from 2008-2015. He later signed with the Buffalo Bills during the 2016 offseason, but was released in final roster cuts before the regular season, which effectively ended his playing career.

Kim Zolciak is best known as one of the original cast members of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” where she appeared during the show’s first five seasons. She and Biermann met on the set in 2010.

After that, Zolciak went on to star in “Don’t Be Tardy” on Bravo, a series that followed her family life with Biermann and their six children. The show lasted eight seasons.

Zolciak also competed on season 21 of “Dancing with the Stars” in 2015, but she withdrew early because of illness.

The couple has since been involved in a highly publicized divorce that has turned into intense legal and custody battles.

Falcons Fans Just Got Another Reason To Revisit The Darnell Mooney Move

The Falcons moved on from Darnell Mooney earlier this offseason, then pivoted by bringing in Jahan Dotson to fill the WR2 spot, a swap that made Atlantas receiver reshuffle one of the more notable roster decisions of the summer. Mooney, meanwhile, landed a one-year deal with the New York Giants, a fresh start that was supposed to give him a chance to re-establish his value in a new offense.

Instead, his standing in New York has already become part of the conversation, with Mooney sitting behind other receivers on the depth chart and the Giants reportedly weighing trade options. For Falcons fans, it is another little reminder that the teams choice to move on was not just about making room for Dotson, but about betting the receiving room could look different very quickly if the market and the roster both keep shifting. Michael Penix Jrs Recovery Just Raised The Stakes In Atlantas QB Race

Michael Penix Jr. is moving through the next phase of his recovery from a knee injury, and the timing matters more now because Atlanta still has not settled its quarterback decision for the season. He has been working in 7-on-7 drills, but full participation is still waiting on a doctors clearance, leaving the Falcons in a holding pattern as they sort through the competition under center.

Tua Tagovailoa is currently leading the race, but Penix remains very much in the mix if he gets the green light soon enough to get back into 11-on-11 work. For Atlanta, the appeal is obvious: the longer Penix stays in position to push, the more pressure there is on the staff to weigh not just health, but timing, readiness and how much practice time he can still bank before the season arrives. Falcons Suddenly Have Two Camp Battles Fans Need To Watch

The Falcons used their second joint practice with the Colts to keep sorting through the roster, and the session gave coaches another look at a few players whose roles could matter once the preseason gets rolling. Tua Tagovailoa showed improvement, especially in red-zone passing, while Michael Penix Jr. continued his recovery and kept working toward a possible return to full-team practice.

Rookie linebackers Kendal Daniels and Harold Perkins Jr. also got extended first-team run in situational drills, which is the kind of clue that usually signals a real competition is forming rather than just summer housekeeping. With the Falcons heading into their upcoming preseason game, those snaps should make this next stretch of camp worth watching closely. [Read more 🡒]
