Falcons fans looking ahead to the 2027 NFL Draft should have a full slate of college football on the calendar this weekend. With conference play getting going, the best quarterback evaluation is no longer happening against overmatched opponents. Now it’s real tests, real pressure and real draft stock on the line.
And if Atlanta wants to start building a serious file on the top names in the class, three games stand out in particular across Saturday’s schedule.
The first stop is Knoxville, where No. 1 Texas visits No.
14 Tennessee at 12:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
That matchup gives Falcons scouts a chance to study Arch Manning in one of his biggest games yet. The Longhorns’ trip to Tennessee is being framed as a major NFL audition, and it comes after Texas’ comeback win over Ohio State.
Manning is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the 2027 Draft, and his appeal goes beyond the name on the back of the jersey. His mobility at 6-foot-4 and 222 pounds stands out, and he has shown flashes of arm talent.
But his pocket presence and decision-making still need work. One thing working in his favor: he usually gets better as the season moves along.
Tennessee will make this a tough proving ground, though, with the Volunteers ranking second in the nation in sacks with 13 through three games. It’s a clean chance to see how Manning handles heat.
Later in the day, No. 4 Ole Miss heads to No.
21 Florida at 3:30 p.m. on ABC, and that game puts Trinidad Chambliss back in the spotlight. After leading the Rebels to a stunning comeback win over LSU last weekend, he now has to do it again in a much tougher road setting.
The Swamp is no easy place to walk into, but Chambliss has already shown he can rise to the moment.
He brings mobility, arm talent and the kind of decisiveness that makes him look ready to play right away. There are concerns, though.
At 6-foot and 205 pounds, and with his 25th birthday coming before his NFL debut, he fits the profile of a quarterback teams would usually be cautious about. Still, he’s not a standard prospect, and the league has become more willing to consider older quarterbacks.
For Falcons fans tracking Day 1 possibilities, he’s a name worth locking in on.
The nightcap might be the most loaded quarterback matchup of the day. No.
20 Oregon visits No. 12 USC at 7:30 p.m.
ET on NBC and Peacock in what amounts to a Big Ten showcase for Dante Moore and Jayden Maiava. Both are viewed as likely first-round picks, and both have plenty to prove.
Maiava has been the bigger early-season producer, leading the country with 1,173 passing yards and 12 passing touchdowns. He has emerged as a polished pocket passer and looks like a real first-round candidate.
Moore brings a different kind of game. He’s more elusive, better at creating when the play breaks down, and has shown the arm talent Oregon has wanted since he took over.
But outside of the opener against Boise State, he hasn’t been as consistent. This is the kind of stage where he needs to deliver.
For Atlanta, the weekend offers a sharp early look at three quarterbacks who could shape the 2027 draft conversation. Manning, Chambliss and the Oregon-USC duo all have something to prove, and that makes Saturday a good scouting day for anybody with an eye on the future.
