Falcons Face A Saints Problem Fantasy Players Already See

With Alvin Kamara poised for a standout performance, Monday Night Football's lineup strategy leans on key Fantasy players to secure a top spot in the competitive NFC South clash.

Monday night in the NFC South brings a DFS slate built around the same simple idea: pay up for the players who can bend the game. Atlanta and New Orleans meet in the bayou with first place in the division on the line, and the DraftKings showdown construction leans hard into the stars who should soak up the volume.

Alvin Kamara gets the captain spot here, and for good reason. With Travis Etienne Jr. landing on injured reserve earlier this week after a hamstring injury, Kamara is positioned to take the lion’s share of the snaps in the Saints backfield.

He still hasn’t posted that true breakout Fantasy game this season, but the five-time Pro Bowler has the kind of workload and dual-threat profile that can carry a lineup. His receiving work keeps him on the field, and the rushing-receiving combo gives him a path to beat his mid-range salary while leaving room for other premium plays.

Bijan Robinson is the other non-negotiable piece. He’s been a workload monster, averaging 26.33 touches per game and producing 21.56 FPPG in PPR formats.

That kind of usage makes him the engine of the Falcons offense, and his ability to create damage as both a runner and receiver is exactly why he belongs in this build. In six career games against the Saints, Robinson has averaged 19.03 FPTS per game with 366 rushing yards and three touchdowns, plus 256 receiving yards and two scores.

Chris Olave also fits the stars-and-volume theme. Early this season, no defense has found a way to quiet him, and the Falcons don’t look like the unit to do it now.

Olave has reached at least 10 targets in each of his games so far, and that target volume has helped him average 23.5 PPR points. He remains the centerpiece of the Saints passing attack and looks lined up for another strong fantasy outing.

Tyler Shough brings the quarterback production into the lineup. He’s been excellent early, topping 22.4 Fantasy points in each game this season.

The volume is the selling point: Shough leads the NFL with 44 pass attempts per game, giving him plenty of chances to pile up points in this NFC South meeting. With Etienne Jr. out, the Saints may lean even more into that pass-heavy approach.

Noah Fant comes in as the value play with touchdown upside. He’s tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns for the Saints with three, and pairing him with Shough adds a useful layer of correlation. Fant is questionable, though, so if he’s out, the pivot in this build is the pair of kickers.

To make the rest of the stars fit, the lineup dips down to Lance. The rookie has settled in as the Saints’ WR 3 early on and has been on the field for a solid number of snaps. He hasn’t delivered a breakout performance yet, but the playing time makes him a worthwhile salary saver at this price.

Falcons-Saints Just Lost A Reunion Fans Had Circled

The Week 4 meeting with New Orleans just got a little thinner on the Saints defensive side, as linebacker Kaden Elliss has been ruled out because of a calf injury. Atlanta also got some clarity on the rest of the matchup picture, with the Saints set to be without edge rushers Carl Granderson and Anfernee Jennings, while linebacker Pete Werner is listed as questionable.

For the Falcons, the most interesting ripple could come at linebacker if Divine Deablo cant go. That would open the door for rookie Harold Perkins Jr. to see more action, giving Atlanta a chance to lean on a younger defensive look in a division game that already carried plenty of intrigue before the injury report started to reshape it. Michael Penix Jr. Just Raised The Stakes For Falcons Vs Saints

Michael Penix Jr. is walking into one of the biggest spots of his young Falcons career, and he is not treating Monday nights trip to New Orleans like just another divisional game. Fresh off returning from an ACL injury, the quarterback is set to start against the Saints in a matchup that carries real weight for Atlantas NFC South hopes, with the Falcons still trying to establish themselves in the division race.

The setting only adds to the pressure. The game also lands on the 20th anniversary of the Saints first game back at the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina, giving the night an extra layer of emotion and attention. Penixs recent critical remark about New Orleans has already sharpened the edge of the matchup, and now he has to back it up in one of the leagues more charged road environments. [Read more 🡒]

Falcons Fans Remember The Steve Gleason Play For A Different Reason

Two decades later, Steve Gleasons blocked punt still looms large over the Saints return to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina, a snapshot that became bigger than the play itself and a symbol of recovery for a city and a franchise. For Falcons fans, it remains one of those moments that lives on for more than the football, a reminder of how one snap can take on a meaning nobody could have scripted.

Gleasons story did not stop there, of course. After his ALS diagnosis in 2011, he turned the visibility from that night into something far more lasting, becoming one of the sports most recognizable advocates for ALS awareness while continuing to share his life publicly. He now has an album, titled "Rebirth," on the way, drawn from the years since his diagnosis, and he has said that the blocked punt ended up giving him a platform that proved important in a fight much bigger than football.
