Kevin Stefanski is suddenly one of the hottest names on the NFL coaching carousel - and for good reason. The former Browns head coach is drawing serious interest from multiple teams, with the Dolphins officially requesting a second interview, according to reports. The Ravens are also looking to get Stefanski in the building before Wednesday, making this a race against the clock for any team hoping to lock him down.
And there’s more. Stefanski was recently identified as the Falcons’ top target, which only raises the urgency for teams like Miami and Baltimore.
The Titans could also be in the mix, making this a potentially crowded field. With the coaching market heating up quickly, Stefanski’s calendar is likely filling by the hour.
At 43, Stefanski brings nearly two decades of NFL experience to the table. His coaching journey started all the way back in 2005 as an operations intern with the Eagles. A year later, he joined the Vikings and began a steady climb through the coaching ranks - from assistant to the head coach, to tight ends coach, running backs coach, and quarterbacks coach, before eventually taking over as interim offensive coordinator.
He earned the full-time OC role in Minnesota after a strong audition and soon found himself on the radar for head coaching jobs. That opportunity came with the Browns, who hired him in 2020.
Stefanski made an immediate impact in Cleveland, leading the team to an 11-win season and their first playoff victory in over two decades. That performance earned him AP Coach of the Year honors in his debut season.
He was extended after another strong campaign in 2023, when he again took home Coach of the Year honors. But the success didn’t last. The Browns went just 7-26 over the next two seasons, and Stefanski was let go after the 2025 campaign.
Still, his overall résumé remains impressive. A 43-54 record across six seasons may not jump off the page, but two playoff appearances and a pair of Coach of the Year awards speak to his ability to lead and adapt - especially in tough environments.
Stefanski has shown he can develop quarterbacks, build cohesive offensive staffs, and steady a franchise in turmoil. That’s a rare combination in today’s NFL.
Now, with several teams in need of a steady hand and a fresh offensive mind, Stefanski is back in the spotlight. Whether it’s the Dolphins, Ravens, Falcons, or another team that ultimately lands him, it’s clear Stefanski is going to have options - and perhaps a chance to write a new chapter in his coaching career.
