Atlanta Gets Surprise NLDS Schedule Update

Dodgers fans gear up for potentially thrilling primetime NLDS matchups as start times hinge on wild card results.

Major League Baseball has set the opening stretch of the Division Series schedule, and the Dodgers already know they’ll be playing under the lights for Game 2 at Dodger Stadium on Sunday.

Game 1 on Saturday is still tied to the outcome of the Cubs-Padres wild card series in San Diego. The Dodgers will not face the Cubs-Padres winner in the NLDS; their opponent will be either the Atlanta Braves or the Philadelphia Phillies. Atlanta is up 1-0 in that best-of-3 series.

If the Cubs advance, the Dodgers’ Game 1 on Saturday will start at 6 p.m. PT and air on FS1.

If the Padres move on, Game 1 will begin at 1 p.m. PT Saturday, also on FS1.

Game 2 is locked in for 5 p.m. Sunday at Dodger Stadium on FS1.

The rest of the Division Series schedule will be announced later this week, once the wild card round is finished.

Fox Sports will carry the entire National League postseason and the World Series, so every Dodgers game this October will be on Fox or FS1. Fox has not yet announced its announcer teams for the NLDS.

Here’s how the Dodgers’ Division Series currently lines up:

Game 1 - Saturday, Oct. 3 - Dodger Stadium - 1 p.m. or 6 p.m.

PT - Fox or FS1
Game 2 - Sunday, Oct.

4 - Dodger Stadium - 5 p.m. PT - FS1

Game 3 - Tuesday, Oct. 6 - Atlanta/Philadelphia - TBA - Fox or FS1

Game 4* - Wednesday, Oct. 7 - Atlanta/Philadelphia - TBA - Fox or FS1

Game 5* - Friday, Oct. 9 - Dodger Stadium - TBA - Fox or FS1

Saturday opens all four Division Series, while the two American League series will have Sunday off before picking back up Monday with Game 2. That leaves Sunday as a two-game day for both National League series.

The Saturday schedule also includes ALDS Game 1 between the Astros and White Sox at the Guardians at 10 a.m. PT on TBS, Yankees/Red Sox at the Rays at 3:30 p.m. on TBS, and the other NLDS opener slots around the Dodgers game depending on the wild card results.

Falcons DT Maason Smith Has Extra Motivation In Saints Return

The Falcons head into Monday Night Football with a meaningful NFC South game on deck and a setting that carries a lot more weight than the usual division trip. Atlanta has played better lately behind key contributions from Michael Penix Jr. and Bijan Robinson, and the visit to New Orleans comes with the added backdrop of the 20th anniversary of the Saints' return to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina.

For Maason Smith, the night brings a personal layer the Falcons will be watching closely. The defensive tackle will play in his hometown for the first time as an NFL player, and the building itself carries its own history for him after he tore his ACL there while at LSU. It is the kind of return that can sharpen a player's focus, and it gives Atlanta another reason to be locked in for a game that matters in the division. [Read more 🡒]

Buccaneers Suddenly Have A Baker Mayfield Problem They Can't Ignore

Through three weeks of the 2026 NFL season, the Buccaneers are the NFCs only winless team, and now their offense has to move on without Baker Mayfield for about three weeks because of a dislocated thumb. For Atlanta, that matters because the Falcons are trying to build off their first win and climb back into the race in a division that can shift quickly once one team loses its footing.

The Falcons sit at 1-2, and their outlook still leans heavily on how Michael Penix Jr. develops from here. Tampa Bays sudden uncertainty at quarterback only adds another layer to a division picture that already feels unsettled, with Atlanta looking for any opening it can get while the Buccaneers try to steady themselves before the gap gets wider. Falcons QB Picture Just Got More Interesting After Penixs Packers Win

Michael Penix Jr. has given the Falcons a little more clarity under center after his win over the Packers, locking in at least a second straight start as Atlanta keeps sorting out its quarterback picture. The move comes with Tua Tagovailoa still working back from an oblique injury, and the former Week 1 starter has already settled into a backup role while supporting Penix in the meantime.

Tagovailoa is expected to remain the primary backup when the Falcons head into their next game against the Saints, which adds a layer of stability even as the depth chart remains in motion. For Atlanta, the immediate question is no longer just who starts next week, but how the team manages the balance between Penix's momentum and Tagovailoa's return to full availability. [Read more 🡒]
