Bad Bunny turned the Super Bowl halftime show into a vibrant tribute to Latino culture, and one of baseball’s brightest stars was right in the middle of it. Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., fresh off another standout season, made a surprise appearance during the performance-an unexpected but fitting cameo for one of the game's most electric talents.
Acuña, who is represented by Bad Bunny’s Rimas Sports, revealed that the invitation to join the halftime spectacle came on the day of the show itself. Talk about short notice. But when one of the biggest global music stars calls, you answer-and Acuña did just that, soaking in the energy of a packed Levi’s Stadium.
“It was amazing to see so many people in the stadium,” Acuña said, reflecting on the surreal experience.
The performance was a celebration of Latino excellence, and Acuña was in good company. The stage featured a star-studded lineup of Latino and Latina icons across entertainment and sports, including actor Pedro Pascal, rapper Cardi B, actress Jessica Alba, and boxing phenoms Emiliano Vargas and Xander Zayas. It was a moment that transcended sports and music-a cultural statement on one of the world’s biggest stages.
For Acuña, the halftime cameo was just the latest highlight in what’s already been a memorable stretch. He’s coming off another All-Star-caliber season with Atlanta, posting a .935 OPS and launching 21 home runs. While those numbers didn’t quite match his MVP campaign from two years ago, they were still elite-and a reminder of what he brings to the field when healthy.
And that’s the key: health. Acuña has battled injuries throughout his career, but as he heads into his ninth MLB season, he says he’s feeling strong and ready.
“I’m healthy now. I feel really good,” he said.
“Like I said before, I’m working on my defense and my offense, too. I feel great.”
That’s music to the Braves’ ears-and to fans of Venezuelan baseball, too. Acuña will suit up for his home country in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, joining forces with fellow Venezuelan stars Eugenio Suárez, Salvador Pérez, and Willson Contreras. With that kind of talent on the roster, Venezuela is poised to make a serious run.

Whether it’s lighting up the outfield in Atlanta, stepping onto the world stage with his national team, or sharing the spotlight with global celebrities at the Super Bowl, Ronald Acuña Jr. continues to be one of the most dynamic and compelling figures in sports. And if his words are any indication, he’s just getting started.
