Braves Sign Hall of Famer's Son, Sparking Excitement Among Fans

Braves welcome Peyton Glavine, son of legendary pitcher Tom Glavine, aiming to carve his own path as a promising left-handed prospect.

The Atlanta Braves are adding a familiar name to their roster, and it’s bound to stir up some nostalgia for fans. Peyton Glavine, son of Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine, is set to join the Braves organization, opening the season at Double-A.

Peyton, like his father, is a left-handed pitcher. Standing at 5-foot-11, he went undrafted out of Auburn University but caught the attention of the Washington Nationals, where he spent four seasons in their minor league system, posting a 3.42 ERA.

In 2025, he took the mound for High-A Wilmington, recording a 3.64 ERA. While his strikeout-to-walk ratio of 6.2 strikeouts to 5.1 walks per nine innings wasn’t ideal, his career numbers suggest he has the potential to improve, having previously achieved double-digit strikeouts per nine innings.

Tom Glavine, a legendary figure in Braves history, spent 17 seasons with Atlanta, securing 244 of his 305 career wins there. Now, Peyton has the opportunity to carve out his own legacy in the same uniform.

Carrying the Glavine name comes with its own set of expectations, but Peyton seems ready to embrace the challenge. As he steps onto the field, he’ll be aiming to make his mark with solid performances and steady development. Braves fans will be watching closely, hopeful that the Glavine legacy continues to thrive in Atlanta.
