The missed chance came back around in the seventh. Sale was fading, Walt Weiss went to Didier Fuentes, and Fuentes got the first of the two outs he needed.
Then JT Realmuto ripped a triple into the right field corner, and Ronald Acuña Jr. couldn’t make the play cleanly. The ball getting away meant an extra run scored, and suddenly the Braves were paying for their earlier failure to cash in Albies.

That set the stage for Riley, who had been fighting it all game. He was one of the Braves hitters who stranded Albies in the sixth, and he had also run into bad luck when a pitch inside struck the knob of his bat.
