Braves First Round Pick Is Already Giving Fans A Reason To Watch

Carter Beck continues to impress after his promotion, adding to the excitement for the future of the Braves with his standout performances.

Atlanta’s newest first-rounder is wasting no time making an impression.

Carter Beck, the Braves’ No. 14 prospect for 2026 on MLB Pipeline, has already been pushed from Single-A Augusta to High-A Rome after a blistering start to his professional career. The 21-year-old outfielder was promoted on Tuesday, then stepped into his first game with the Rome Emperors and delivered right away, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Beck was the 26th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft and became Atlanta’s second first-round selection this year, joining University of Virginia outfielder AJ Gracia, who went No. 9. The Indiana State University product didn’t need much time to announce himself once he got to the minors.

He made his pro debut with the Single-A Augusta GreenJackets on Aug. 4, a little more than three weeks after the draft, and opened with four straight two-hit games. Over 11 games with Augusta, the left-handed hitter posted a .409 average (18-for-44) and a .980 OPS, and he capped that run by launching his first professional home run on Sunday in what turned out to be his final game at that level.

After the move to Rome, Beck is now batting .417 with a .481 on-base percentage and a .981 OPS across his first 12 minor league games. He’s added one homer, six RBIs and six stolen bases, while collecting at least one hit in 10 of those 12 contests.

Atlanta has had several prospects drawing attention in 2026, including outfielder Eric Hartman, left-handed pitcher Cam Caminiti and infielder Tate Southisene. Beck now joins that group as another name Braves fans will have plenty of reason to track, both for the rest of this season and into his first full year in the minors in 2027.

Braves Prospect Patrick Clohisy Is Forcing An Atlanta Decision

Patrick Clohisy has made a fast rise from an 11th-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft to one of the more interesting names in the Braves system. The outfielder has brought the kind of speed and defense that can matter in a hurry, and his work at Triple-A Gwinnett has only sharpened the case for a closer look. For an Atlanta club that could use more athleticism on the bases, he fits a need as much as a prospect profile.

Clohisys value goes beyond just being a runner, though that is clearly part of what makes him stand out. His ability to cover ground in the outfield and create pressure once he reaches base gives the Braves a different sort of option as they think about the major league roster. The question now is not whether he has put himself on the radar, but how long Atlanta can keep him there before a bigger opportunity comes calling. [Read more 🡒]

Braves Make A Surprising Bullpen Cut During Brutal Road Stretch

A difficult road trip has already forced the Braves to keep reworking their pitching staff, and the latest move came in the bullpen. Atlanta parted ways with veteran reliever Tyler Kinley after a rough start to the season, a notable decision for a club that has leaned on experienced arms while trying to steady the staff through the early grind.

Kinley had given the Braves useful innings after arriving last year, but this season never matched that initial run of success. With the bullpen and rotation both still in flux, the move leaves Atlanta continuing to search for the right mix of arms as the road stretch rolls on. [Read more 🡒]
