The Braves added two more Gold Gloves to the trophy case Sunday night, with Matt Olson and Mauricio Dubón both taking home Rawlings honors for the 2026 season.
Olson was recognized at first base, while Dubón won the utility award. Atlanta also had two other finalists in the mix: left-hander Chris Sale and center fielder Michael Harris II. Sale lost out to Mets right-hander Nolan McLean, and Harris was edged by Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong.
For Atlanta, the double win marks the club’s first pair of Gold Glove winners in the same season since Max Fried and Dansby Swanson did it in 2022. It also keeps the Braves’ defensive run rolling; the franchise has now collected 12 Gold Gloves over the last seven of nine seasons since 2018.
Olson’s award is his fourth Gold Glove, putting him alongside Christian Walker and Paul Goldschmidt as the only active first basemen with four. He beat out San Diego’s Ty France and Colorado’s T.J.
Rumfield. The 32-year-old was a workhorse all year, playing all 162 games and leading all major league first basemen in innings played.
The numbers backed up the eye test, too: Olson finished first among MLB first basemen in Outs Above Average with 12 and in overall fielding run value with 12, while ranking second to France in Defensive Runs Saved with 11.
Dubón, also 32, earned his third Gold Glove and continued to make a living everywhere. This season he started 75 games in left field, 51 at shortstop, 14 in center field, five at third base and four at second base.
He also became the first Atlanta player to win the utility Gold Glove since Rawlings added the category in 2022. Since that award was created, Dubón has owned it, winning three times in five years, including two American League honors with the Astros.
That makes him the only multi-time winner at the position in major league history.
The Gold Glove voting process splits the decision between managers and coaches, who account for 75% of the vote, and the SABR Defensive Index, which makes up the other 25%. Managers and up to six coaches on each team cast ballots, but cannot vote for their own players. The SABR Defensive Index also determines the utility winner.
Here are the 2026 Gold Glove winners across both leagues:
National League: Gabriel Moreno, Arizona Diamondbacks, catcher; Matt Olson, Atlanta Braves, first base; Brice Turang, Milwaukee Brewers, second base; Alex Bregman, Chicago Cubs, third base; Geraldo Perdomo, Arizona Diamondbacks, shortstop; Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers, left field; Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs, center field; Corbin Carroll, Arizona Diamondbacks, right field; Mauricio Dubón, Atlanta Braves, utility.
American League: Tanner Bibee, Cleveland Guardians, pitcher; Dillon Dingler, Detroit Tigers, catcher; Christian Walker, Houston Astros, first base; Cole Young, Seattle Mariners, second base; Caleb Durbin, Boston Red Sox, third base; Taylor Walls, Tampa Bay Rays, shortstop; Cody Bellinger, New York Yankees, left field; Ceddanne Rafaela, Boston Red Sox, center field; Wilyer Abreu, Boston Red Sox, right field.

Braves Add A Familiar Depth Option As Bench Picture Stays Unsettled
The Braves have added a familiar utility option to the organizational mix, signing infielder Vidal Brujn to a minor league contract and sending him to Triple-A Gwinnett. Brujn brings plenty of big league experience for a depth move, having appeared in 271 major league games since 2021 across six teams, and he gives Atlanta another versatile infield name to keep in the pipeline.
For a bench picture that still looks unsettled, the move makes sense as the Braves keep sorting through their infield depth and possible spring options. Brujn could also get a look in Spring Training as a non-roster player, which would give the club a better read on where he fits while the rest of the roster picture continues to take shape. Braves Prospect Isaiah Drake Is Giving Fans Another Reason To Watch
Isaiah Drake keeps turning heads in the Arizona Fall League, and his latest showing gave Braves fans another reason to keep an eye on Glendale. In a back-and-forth game against Peoria, Drake was a constant presence at the plate while Tate Southisene and Owen Carey also got into the action for the Desert Dogs, with Tyler LaPorte and Logan Samuels handling work on the mound.
The Desert Dogs came out on top 9-8, and the box score had plenty of Braves-related notes to sort through. LaPorte and Samuels each delivered scoreless innings, giving the club some needed stability in a game that stayed tight throughout, while Drakes day stood out as one of the more encouraging individual performances on the roster. Braves Add Intrigue To A Shortstop Battle They Still Havent Solved
The Braves offseason already had a familiar shape, with the club locking in Ronald Acua Jr. and Ozzie Albies for 2027 and then turning back to the middle of the diamond, where the shortstop picture remains unsettled. Mauricio Dubn and Ha-Seong Kim are both free agents, and Jim Jarvis currently stands as the top in-house option, which leaves Atlanta with a clear need even as the roster around that spot continues to take shape.
Into that mix comes Vidal Brujn, a useful depth addition who can move around the field and give the Braves another name to consider as they sort out the position. It is not the kind of move that answers the shortstop question on its own, but it does add another layer to a competition that already looked open and now feels even more crowded. [Read more 🡒]
