Fayetteville's Pro Day Spotlight: Taylen Green and Mike Washington Shine

FAYETTEVILLE - Taylen Green turned heads at the 2026 NFL Combine with record-breaking jumps, but at Arkansas football’s Pro Day, he was all about showcasing his arm. Inside Walker Pavilion, the 6-foot-6, 235-pound quarterback demonstrated his deep ball prowess to scouts from every NFL team and four CFL franchises.

Green wrapped up his impressive workout with a highlight-reel moment: rolling left, he launched a 50-plus-yard pass across his body to junior receiver CJ Brown, who smoothly caught it in stride for a touchdown. In a burst of celebration, Green sprinted downfield and dunked the football over the crossbar.

“I have a strong arm and can throw any football route,” Green shared confidently. He credited former Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino for honing his skills. Green's trainer, Taylor Kelly, a former Arizona State quarterback, guided him through the drills, having worked with him at 3DQB in California.

Despite a standout combine, Green was quick to focus on Pro Day, eager to put his arm talent on full display. “Seeing what I did was pretty cool, and the responses were great,” he said.

“That takes a lot of pressure off of Pro Day. I was not going to do anything but just throw.”

Joining Green at Pro Day were fellow Razorbacks who attended the NFL combine: running back Mike Washington, cornerback Julian Neal, defensive lineman Cam Ball, offensive lineman Fernando Carmona, and linebacker Xavian Sorey.

Back in Fayetteville, Green relished the camaraderie with his teammates, sharing experiences from their pre-draft journey.

Mike Washington was another combine standout, blazing through the 40-yard dash in 4.33 seconds-the fastest among running backs. This performance has sparked significant draft buzz, with ESPN’s Mel Kiper ranking him third among running backs in the draft class.

Washington has been busy with meetings, engaging with teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, and Houston Texans. Scouts have been impressed by his downhill running, breakaway speed, and punishing style.

“A lot of the scouts wanted to see if I could catch out the backfield and pass protect,” Washington explained. “I caught all my passes, was able to pass protect, and do everything the scouts wanted to see.”

Training at X3 Performance in Florida, Washington aimed to expand his skill set at Pro Day, tackling additional drills to round out his portfolio.

“I had a great combine, but I didn’t do everything,” he noted. “I just did the 40, I jumped, did a broad jump. So really just checking the boxes.”

The Pro Day also featured defensive backs Caleb Wooden, Kani Walker, Larry Worth, Jordan Young, and Shakur Smalls; linebackers Stephen Dix and Trent Whalen; receivers O’Mega Blake and Raylen Sharpe; tight end Rohan Jones; defensive linemen Phillip Lee and Frank Mulipola; offensive lineman Corey Robinson; long snapper Ashton Ngo; and punter Devin Bale.

With such standout performances, Fayetteville’s Pro Day was a testament to the talent and preparation of these aspiring pros, each eager to make their mark at the next level.
