Fayetteville: Razorbacks Shine at Arkansas Qualifier

The Arkansas Razorbacks made a powerful impact at the Arkansas Qualifier, setting a new school record in the distance medley relay at the Randal Tyson Track Center. The team of Ainsley Erzen, Sanaria Butler, Makenna Herbst, and Sydney Vaught clocked an impressive 10:44.09, surpassing the previous record by over five seconds. This stellar performance earned them a runner-up finish, just behind Oklahoma State's 10:43.10, which now ranks as the second-best in collegiate history.

This new record for the Razorbacks outshines the previous mark of 10:49.14 set in 2023 by Mary Ellen Eudaly, Amber Anning, Lainey Quandt, and Lauren Gregory. The updated time now places Arkansas at No. 4 on the all-time collegiate list.

In the 400m, Analisse Batista delivered a standout performance, achieving a personal best of 51.54. This time moves her to No. 10 on Arkansas' all-time list. Batista, who also ranks No. 3 in the 800m with a 2:01.60 from 2025, triumphed over former Razorback Rosey Effiong, who finished in 52.57.

Arkansas alum Paris Peoples claimed victory in the second section of the 400m with a time of 51.95, outpacing Bailey Lear and current Razorback Abigail Campbell, who set her own personal best at 53.80. The Sharpe sisters, Arianna and Amirah, also impressed in their section with times of 53.53 and 53.80, respectively.

In the 800m, Madeleine Gear set a personal best of 2:05.22, securing a win over Paige Stuart of Oklahoma State. Josephine Mwaura took the women’s mile title with a time of 4:46.78, ahead of Oklahoma State’s Lauren Ping.

Effiong continued her success by winning the 200m in 23.09, with Peoples finishing third in 23.70. The Razorbacks were well-represented with Arianna Sharpe, Amirah Sharpe, Rae-Anne Serville, and Gabriella Cunningham, who also set a personal best in the 60m hurdles with an 8.39.

The Razorbacks' performances at the Arkansas Qualifier not only showcased individual talents but also highlighted the depth and potential of the team as they continue to make waves in collegiate track and field.
