Darius Acuff Jr. Stuns With Major SEC Awards Sweep

Darius Acuff Jr. cements his legacy by sweeping prestigious awards, highlighting an extraordinary freshman year in SEC basketball.

FAYETTEVILLE - Darius Acuff Jr. is making waves in the SEC, and it's no surprise why. The Razorback guard has been crowned SEC Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and earned a spot on the first team All-SEC, all thanks to the Associated Press.

Acuff stood out as the only unanimous pick for the first team All-SEC, snagging 12 out of 15 votes for Player of the Year. Hailing from Detroit, he's now part of an elite group, becoming just the third player to win both SEC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors from both coaches and media.

The only others to achieve this feat? Anthony Davis in 2012 and Brandon Miller in 2023.

He's also in good company with Razorback legends like Mason Jones, Bobby Portis, and Corliss Williamson.

Here's a look at the first team All-SEC selections:

Acuff's accolades don't stop there. He’s been named Player of the Year by multiple outlets, including the SEC coaches and CollegeHoopsToday.

He's also a finalist for prestigious awards like the John R. Wooden Award and the Bob Cousy Award, and he's earned first team All-American honors from several respected platforms.

His weekly honors are just as impressive, with recognitions like the Naismith National Player of the Week and multiple Freshman of the Week awards in the SEC.
