John Calipari may have found the last piece he needed for Arkansas.
The Razorbacks, already sitting on the No. 1 recruiting class for 2026 and bringing in several notable transfers, have added another major name to the mix. According to numerous sources, Arkansas has landed four-star center Caleb Ourigou, a move that could finally solve the biggest hole on the roster.

Ourigou is a 6-foot-10 center from Overtime Elite and is ranked among the top bigs in the 2027 class. There is also speculation that he could reclassify and make himself available for Arkansas this fall, which would give the Razorbacks the paint presence they’ve been missing.
That has been the lingering issue for Arkansas basketball. The program has been a regular in the NCAA tournament since Eric Musselman arrived in 2019, but it has not consistently had a true center to anchor the middle. Ourigou gives Calipari a chance to change that.
The big man’s stock has climbed fast over the past few months. He picked up more than 25 Division I offers after strong showings at the NBPA 100 Camp in South Carolina, the Nike EYBL circuit and in the Overtime Elite league. Arkansas won out for a player who became one of the most coveted recruits in the 2027 cycle.
Even if his offensive game is still developing, Ourigou brings exactly what the Razorbacks need on the interior. His size, length and rim protection stand out immediately, and his finishing around the basket and shot-blocking should fit naturally with Arkansas’ roster.
The Razorbacks already have plenty of perimeter talent and shot creation. What they lacked was a physical presence inside, someone who could protect the rim and give Calipari a more traditional frontcourt option when the matchup calls for it. Ourigou checks that box.
If he does end up on campus this fall, he would join four of the top 50 recruits in the country, Georgia’s No. 1 scorer from 2025 Jeremiah Wilkinson and returning fan favorite Billy Richmond III. In that scenario, Arkansas could have a real case to crack the top five in the preseason rankings.
