Arkansas sophomore wing Isaiah Sealy was arrested early Friday morning on multiple charges, according to records from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Sealy was booked on suspicion of criminal trespassing, obstructing government operations, possession of controlled substance and a minor in possession of alcohol.
The initial police report says the Springdale native was taken into custody by Fayetteville police at Tin Roof on Dickson Street around 1:30 a.m. Friday. According to the report, Sealy refused to show identification to a bouncer and then tried to leave the bar twice when officers asked for his ID.
After police escorted him outside, Sealy provided his date of birth, which confirmed he was 19 years old. The report also says he was holding an alcoholic beverage when officers first approached him, and the arresting officer noted a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.
Once he was detained, police searched Sealy and found a THC vape pen in his possession. Washington County Sheriff’s Office records list his bail at $1,615, and he was released at 9:18 a.m. Friday.
A team source said Arkansas athletics was informed of the arrest Friday morning and is gathering all information and details through the proper channels. The source added that once the information is reviewed, the matter will be handled internally.
Sealy is entering his second season with the Razorbacks after playing in 19 games as a freshman. The 6-foot-7, 195-pound wing averaged 2.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and shot 50% from the field last season.
After what looked like a promising first year, Sealy was expected to compete for a larger role this season, but John Calipari said earlier this summer that Sealy suffered a knee injury in a pickup game that required surgery. Calipari did not give a timetable for his return, though sources told HawgSports it was a torn ACL and that Sealy would miss the entire season.
The Razorbacks recently completed a four-game exhibition trip to the Bahamas earlier this month, and Sealy did not travel with the team. Instead, he stayed back to keep working through recovery and rehab for the knee injury.
