The Arkansas Razorbacks are set to open their first fall camp under Ryan Silverfield on Aug. 5, and the calendar is already packed with a full run of practices, two scrimmages and a few key media dates before the season opener in Fayetteville against FCS North Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 5.
Arkansas announced Wednesday that the team will hold 25 practices before that Week 1 matchup, with the final workout coming on Friday, Sept. 4. Silverfield will kick things off with a press conference on Aug. 3 to preview camp, and several assistants - including defensive coordinator Ron Roberts, offensive coordinator Tim Cramsey and special teams coordinator Chad Lunsford - along with position coaches and players will be made available to the media during camp.
The Razorbacks’ first practice in full pads is scheduled for Aug. 11, and the team will work in the afternoons through Aug. 18 before switching to morning sessions. Arkansas also has five off days built into camp: Aug.
8, Aug. 12, Aug.
17, Aug. 21 and Aug. 24.
Two scrimmages are on the docket as well. The first comes on Sunday, Aug. 16, and the second is set for Saturday, Aug. 22.
Fans will also get their first edition of “The Ryan Silverfield Show” on the Razorback Sports Network on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The program will air on stations across the state affiliated with the network and will also be available on the Arkansas Razorbacks app on smartphones.
Silverfield’s first game-week press conference is scheduled for noon on Monday, Aug. 31. Then it’s straight into the opener, with kickoff against North Alabama set for 3:15 p.m. on the SEC Network and the Razorback Sports Network.
