Arkansas’ first SEC injury report of the season came with a few familiar names, but no major new long-term setbacks as the Razorbacks get ready for Saturday’s conference opener against No. 2 Georgia.
The report was released Wednesday evening, the first individual availability list required by the SEC for conference games since 2024. Arkansas (1-1, 0-0 SEC) will face Georgia (2-0, 0-0 SEC) at 11 a.m. CDT in Fayetteville on ABC.
The biggest losses for Arkansas were already known from fall camp. Senior tight end Maddox Lassiter underwent season-ending surgery after an upper-body injury, while freshman punter Connor Smith and junior defensive lineman J’Lynn Allen also had their seasons end before the opener.
“Maddox has been absolutely phenomenal,” Arkansas head coach Ryan Silverfield said. “We actually thought he was going to have a very, very significant role for us.
Was playing at an extremely high level and it's just tough. Tough young man that got hurt during a practice and he had surgery, is out for the remainder of the year.”
Beyond those three, Arkansas has avoided any other major season-ending injuries, though the roster has picked up a few smaller issues along the way.
Fifth-year offensive tackle Bryant Williams was injured in last Saturday’s 43-10 loss to No. 17 Utah, and junior offensive tackle Adam Hawkes filled in for him against the Utes. But Williams is cleared as of Wednesday.
“We subbed in three offensive linemen towards the end of the game, and Hawkes was one of them,” Silverfield said. “He did some okay things.
Limited view of film and what he was able to do. He did some decent things, but he's one of those guys that has shown some progress every single week in practice, and that's the hope that if he has to go in and play, that he'll be ready.”
Senior tight end Jaden Platt also dealt with a minor injury in the days before the Utah game and was limited to three snaps in that matchup. He is available for Week 3.
Two other Arkansas players showed up on the initial availability report: sophomore tight end Hutson Hendrix and freshman defensive back Brandon Ford.
Both were listed as questionable.
