Arizona is about to get a major recruiting weekend, and Tommy Lloyd’s staff will have a chance to make a loud impression on three of the biggest names in the 2027 class.
The headliner is Adan Diggs, a 5-star guard from Millennium High School in Goodyear, Arizona, who is scheduled to make his first official visit to Tucson from Sep. 25-27, according to Sam Kayser of League Ready. Diggs will be joined on campus by fellow five-star prospects Darius Wabbington and NaVorro Bowman Jr. for Arizona’s annual Red-Blue showcase.
For the Wildcats, that creates a massive opportunity. All three players are ranked among the top 20 in the 2027 class, and all three could end up wearing Arizona uniforms together in 2027-28.
Diggs is a 6'4 combo guard who has stacked up as one of the elite prospects in the country. He checks in at No. 6 nationally at both 247Sports and Rivals, and ESPN has him one spot behind at No.
- This summer, he flashed his full skill set with Vegas Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit, posting 18.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
There’s plenty to like beyond the numbers, too. Diggs has a 6'7 wingspan, brings real energy defensively, and helps out on the glass, giving him the kind of two-way value that translates at the next level. The shot from deep still needs more consistency, and he can sharpen his finishing at the rim, but the upside is obvious.
Arizona has been in the mix for a while, and Diggs’ offer sheet shows just how far his profile has climbed. Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, and UCLA are all among the blue blood programs that have offered him, but the Wildcats have long been viewed as a serious contender.
Bowman, meanwhile, brings elite lead-guard talent to the table. The 6'3 point guard from Notre Dame High School in California ranks No. 12 in the 2027 class at Rivals and No. 11 at 247Sports. He recently finished an official visit to UConn and has trips lined up to Illinois on Sep. 10 and Texas on Sep. 19 before heading to Tucson.
Wabbington gives Arizona another local target to work with. The 6'11 big man from Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix has been on Lloyd’s radar for a long time. He is No. 17 at Rivals and No. 12 at 247Sports, and his visit schedule also includes Illinois, Texas, North Carolina, and a recent stop at Indiana.
If all three make the trip to Tucson, Arizona will have a chance to put on the kind of showcase that can shape a class. Landing even two of them would be a huge win. Getting all three would change the ceiling for what Lloyd and the Wildcats can build.
