The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have secured a promising addition to their future lineup with the commitment of Emmett Queen, a talented three-star quarterback hailing from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.
Queen had nearly 20 offers on the table, but it was Wake Forest, along with in-state Kentucky and Arizona State, that were the major players in the race for his talents. A recent visit to Wake Forest's spring practice was the clincher for Queen.
“What really made Wake stand out for me was how genuine the coaches were from the start,” Queen shared. Coach Jake Dickert, Coach Rob Ezell, and Coach Dan Enos made a lasting impression with their authenticity. Queen felt a personal connection and sensed their belief in his potential, making Wake Forest the ideal place for his growth and contribution to the program’s rise to prominence.
Ranked as the No. 65 quarterback prospect for the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite, Queen stands nearly 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 215 pounds. He's the third commitment to Coach Dickert's 2027 class, signaling a strong recruiting year.
Coach Dickert, who led the Demon Deacons to a 9-4 record in his first season, has a vision for elevating the program. After a successful stint at Washington State, finishing 23-20 over four seasons, Dickert's impact at Wake Forest was highlighted by a victory over Mississippi State in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Queen is enthusiastic about the trajectory of the team, noting the clear vision for building a championship-caliber program with high-character athletes.
“They were 9-4 last season, and just being around the program, you can feel the energy and upward momentum. I’m excited to be part of it,” Queen expressed.
During his time at Beechwood High School, Queen led his team to an impressive 11-win season, passing for over 2,000 yards and 31 touchdowns, with just two interceptions. He also showcased his versatility by rushing for four touchdowns, underscoring his dual-threat capability.
With Queen on board, Wake Forest is poised to continue its upward climb, adding depth and talent to its roster with a player who embodies both skill and leadership potential.
