ASU Lacrosse aims to extend their winning streak as they face Akron for the first time, with standout performances ready to lead the charge.

This game marks the first-ever meeting between ASU and Akron, and the fourth time ASU has faced a Mid-American Conference opponent, following three games against Detroit Mercy.

Sun Devil Outlook:

ASU is riding high after a commanding 19-12 victory over Bucknell, powered by senior attacker Lydia Oldknow's career-high eight goals. This performance ties the program's single-game record, making Oldknow the third Sun Devil to reach this milestone.

The Sun Devils showcased their prowess in draw controls, with junior midfielder Anna Viglione securing 20, contributing to ASU's total of 26, compared to Bucknell's seven. This marks the third consecutive game with 20+ draw controls. Sophomore goalkeeper Regan Spichiger was stellar in the net, recording 14 saves, doubling her previous best.

Leading the Big 12, ASU excels in assists per game (8.86), draw controls per game (19), points per game (24.57), and shots per game (34.29).

Akron enters with a strong 5-1 start, coming off a successful 2025 season where they clinched the MAC conference title but fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. They average 12.17 goals per game while limiting opponents to 8.87. On the road this season, they boast a perfect 2-0 record with wins over Butler and Xavier.

Sun Devil Notables:

Senior attacker Teagan Ng is on a remarkable 27-game goal-scoring streak heading into the Akron game.

A victory would extend ASU's current win streak to three, the longest of the season.

Wednesday's game marks ASU's seventh home game, the most in the NCAA this season.

Oldknow's standout performance against Bucknell also extended her point-scoring streak to 45 games, with goals in 44 of them, dating back to 2024. Her 10 points in the game propelled her to 201 career points (148 goals, 52 assists), making her the third player in program history to surpass 200 career points.

Oldknow now ranks second in career goals with 148, trailing only teammate Teagan Ng, who has 152.

Senior attacker Jordyn Behar continues her own streak, extending her point-scoring run to 26 games since the start of the 2025 season, with a goal and five assists against Bucknell.

Spichiger's 14 saves not only marked a personal best but also set a team high for ASU this season.

The Sun Devils are averaging 16.5 goals per game at home and are just one goal shy of reaching 100 goals in Tempe this season.
