In a move that feels like destiny, Chandler Basha High School's standout kicker, Mikey Barth, has committed to Arizona State University for the 2027 season. The son of former ASU kicker Mike Barth, Mikey's decision seems to be a natural continuation of a family legacy.
"I always knew ASU was where I wanted to be," Barth shared. Despite considering visits to other schools, he felt a strong pull towards the Sun Devils.
"Why not just lock it in now?" he added, reflecting his confidence in his choice.
Barth is already making waves in the kicking world. Standing at 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, he's ranked as the No. 2 overall kicker in his class by Kohl's Kicking. They praised his performance at the 2026 Kohl's National Underclassman Challenge, highlighting his dominance in kickoffs and labeling him as having the most explosive leg in the country.
Last season, Barth was nearly flawless, hitting 14 of 16 field-goal attempts, including a long of 52 yards. He was perfect on PATs, converting all 64 attempts, and recorded 68 touchbacks on 70 kickoffs. These stats underscore his consistency and power on the field.
