Cutter Boley picked up Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors after steering a wildly efficient Sun Devils attack in a 70-point outburst against Morgan State.
With Boley running the show, ASU spread the damage around in a way that barely left Morgan State any room to breathe. The Sun Devils piled up six passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns, a combination reached only 21st time since 1996 by an FBS team in the same game.
The numbers kept stacking up from there. ASU finished with more than 400 passing yards and more than 200 rushing yards, and that has happened only four times since 1996 in the same game for the Sun Devils.
Morgan State, meanwhile, absorbed one of the biggest totals in its record book. The 70 points were the sixth-most allowed in program history, behind 87 against Grambling in 1993, 83 against Florida A&M in 1986, 77 to Maine in 2003, 73 to Western Illinois in 2000, and the first-ever game the Bears played in 1899, a 71-0 loss.
That came after Morgan State had opened its season by allowing just seven points against North Carolina A&T a week earlier.
ASU also had an unusual day in the kicking game, or rather the lack of one. The Sun Devils never attempted a field goal and never punted, making it only the second time since at least 1996 that has happened, with the other coming against Navy in the 2012 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.
