Arizona State Fans Just Got A Telling First Look At Bennetts Spotlight

Arizona State's men's basketball schedule for 2026-2027 brings critical primetime opportunities on major networks, marking significant changes from previous seasons.

Arizona State men’s basketball finally has its television roadmap for the 2026-2027 season, and the schedule comes with a few noticeable shifts.

Randy Bennett’s first year in Tempe will have a different look on the airwaves, starting with the Sun Devils’ opener against East Tennessee State on Nov. 2. That game will stream on ESPN+.

One of the clearest changes is how often ASU appears on ESPN’s main channel. The Sun Devils were on ESPN four times in 2025, though once that count is stripped down to games outside neutral-site events and the Big 12 tournament, it was just the matchup against Houston. This season, ASU has a chance to land on ESPN twice, again excluding multi-team events and conference tournament play.

There’s also a new FOX wrinkle. Arizona State will appear on FOX’s main channel this year, something it did not do last season.

The biggest difference, though, may come early. ASU’s first tournament of the year is the Acrisure Series in Palm Springs, and that event will be carried by CBS Sports Network. That marks a step down from the program’s ESPN spotlight at the Maui Invitational in 2025.

And if you’re looking for a true marquee night game, the wait could be longer than usual. Even though the Sun Devils start playing on Nov. 2, there’s a real chance they won’t get a prime-time cable slot until January.

A handful of games are set for afternoon viewing instead, including 10 ESPN+ matchups, both Acrisure Series games and Arizona State’s neutral-site meeting with Oklahoma. Because of the Eastern time conversion, the Sooners game will actually start at 10:00 a.m. Arizona time.

The first confirmed night game on the schedule is Jan. 2 against BYU, though ASU could still get an earlier late-night appearance. Arizona State’s road game at Oregon State is listed for an 8:00 p.m. tip, but the network has not been announced.

Once Big 12 play arrives, the schedule becomes much more active in prime time. Arizona State is currently slated for 11 night games in conference play.

Of course, television windows don’t decide what happens on the floor. But if you were wondering where and when to watch, the picture is now a lot clearer.
